Let’s dive into the dungeon together—because there’s still magic left in the world, and we’re not giving up on it yet!!!
Hello EVERYONE!
My name is Angel D. Rivera and for some years now I have been developing this project called "Doomers".
I have decided to move forward with this project using the Kickstarter platform to achieve the production of the pilot episode of Doomers!
Synopsis
After repressing the dream of being a knight and living his own adventure, a clumsy, fearful, and insecure farmer, but with a big heart called: Sir Pacheco, will take guts and throw himself into the adventure in The Great Dungeon of Athiquiem. Where he will meet Mike, a bitter, hands-less goblin and Larry, a naive skeleton with a fragmented mind, where together they will seek to achieve the impossible...
To reach the end of the dungeon.
THE SHOW
The tone and mood of "Doomers" is predominantly comedic, with a strong inclination towards the absurd and surreal. The series revels in hilarious and out-of-the-ordinary situations, combining elements of high fantasy with whimsical and carefree humor. The characters face challenges and adventures that, although dangerous, are resolved in unexpected and comedic ways, often playing with the logic of Athiquiem's magical world.
Despite its light-hearted approach, "Doomers" allows the series to explore deep themes such as depression, friendship, forgetfulness, failure, and identity, without losing its ability to make the audience laugh with crazy antics and surreal situations. The series stands out for its eclectic nature, which allows for the incorporation of various elements, concepts and eras, offering a vast array of creative options.
THE WORLD
In Athiquiem, a continent brimming with magical creatures and adventures, humans initially hunted and traded these beings and artifacts, forcing the creatures to seek refuge in dungeons for protection. Within these dungeons, some creatures evolved and became Watchers, beings dedicated to preserving magic. The Watchers connected the dungeons to shelter and protect the magical creatures, preventing human access with traps and creating environments that were inaccessible to the average human.
Over time, the charm of the continent gradually faded, and all that was magical became encapsulated in the Great Dungeon of Athiquiem. As a result, the adventurous spirit of humans dwindled, leaving them monotonous and uninterested in the unknown, marking the end of an era of fascination with the fantastical.
The dungeon has an immense number of levels within it; these places can be simple rooms, vast valleys, or even entire countries within this underground world. The Watchers had the ability to modify space, making the dungeon unique with features impossible for any other dungeon. This characteristic makes venturing into the dungeon a potentially long and thrilling adventure, possibly with no return.
CHARACTERS
SIR PACHECO
Meet Emil Alvaro Pacheco, AKA "Sir. Pacheco" a peasant who always wanted to be a knight when he grew up, his father went to great lengths to get him into the knight academy, but Pacheco ended up being the joke of all of the surrounds of the academy.
Pacheco is a clumsy, unwilling and fearful person, he is scared even by his own shadow. While the other students excelled in swordsmanship, archery, or durability, Pacheco was a lover of poetry and liked to act.
Pacheco grew up and never became what he wanted to be, he resigned himself to being just another farmer, while the vast majority of his classmates became knights, or bounty hunters. Pacheco was growing radishes and cleaning the display shelves of the kingdom's museum, where relics and armor of the once extinct or retired Adventurers of Athiquiem were portrayed and preserved.
One night, at the age of 58 years old, Pacheco decided to go on an adventure, even though he was now a laughing stock, he would not die without accomplishing what he had fought for all his life. Pacheco took a silly old suit of armor from one of the counters in the castle museum, and set off to the Athiquiem Dungeon. His plan? to get the treasure of the dungeon to be named knight, and revive the spirit of adventure.
When Pacheco arrives at the dungeon, he bravely enters it. As he descends the first few desolate floors, a couple of new friends see him enter...
Mike
Mike, a somewhat grumpy and sarcastic goblin, comes from a cave where all goblins are known for having large, strong hands, used to earn their living by extracting minerals from the caves.
However, Mike is different. He was born without these large hands, which led to him being kicked out from his home because of his uselessness. He ended up finding shelter in the dungeon, where he met Larry, a clumsy and solitary skeleton.
Mike will do whatever it takes to prove that he is more than meets the eye if someone underestimates him.
His past has marked him, but that mark makes him stand out in tough situations. That same explosive attitude that makes him erupt in anger also simplifies things (in some cases).
Larry
Larry doesn't remember his past life at all, but he has vague memories. Every time he tries to remember something, he recalls something different—sometimes he was a knight, a powerful wizard, or even a compulsive gambler.
He always remembers something different, and these memories make him act like that for a short period of time. When Larry met Mike, they connected instantly. Mike is always downbad, feeling sad for not being useful, so Larry is always there cheering him up, even congratulating him for moving a simple rock. This created a bond between Mike and his new and only friend, Larry.
Larry is somewhat naive. If you approach him and ask him to do something, offering him something as insignificant as a rock in return, you can easily convince him to do it.
At the same time, if Larry sees that his friends are in danger, he will act immediately. But his kindness extends beyond just his friends. Larry would be willing to help even the smallest fly, as his "heart" is very big.
FOES AND CHALLENGES
In order for our heroes to reach their destination, they will have to overcome countless dungeon floors, these floors have challenges ranging from the ridiculous to the lethal. In an instant they can be cooking a Pie with Chuthulu parts, or fighting the Chuthulu itself...? In an arm wrestling duel of course.
Sir Evil is one of the most acclaimed and perfectionist Watchers of the great dungeon. He will not allow this particular trio of adventurers to reach the end of the dungeon, so he will move heaven and earth, convincing new faces to stop them. His only rule as a Watcher is not to directly interfere in human actions, even if they are inside the dungeon.
ir Evil has the ability to move between Portals, whereas other Watchers move through magical artifacts. Sir Evil's inherent power of Portal traversal makes him agile when it comes to solving problems.
WIP
Other people or things will cross the path of our heroes, one of them being the most recurrent and lethal of all... Let's meet the dead legend brought back to life...
Callahan "The Spirit of Adventure".
Benedict Callahan was a great adventurer, one of the most acclaimed, hailed as a legend. A philanthropist collector of countless trophies, heads, and magical artifacts acquired on his adventures. One day, he embarked on a mission to obtain the Golden Scimitars of Amahel the Mad. These weapons bestowed upon their wielder magical abilities and great power. Upon finding the scimitars, they possessed Callahan, transforming him into a bloodthirsty madman. This was Callahan's final journey, as he never returned. The impact was so profound that people presumed him dead, and the world of adventure lost its inspiration, as Callahan's image was no longer there. The entire adventure community fell into a deep depression.
When Callahan was found by our heroes, he was "freed" from the curse and able to return to the kingdom. However, the curse, more than just something magical, was a parasite that continued to live within him.
Callahan, expecting celebrations upon his return, realizes that no one remembers him, no one knows the legend he used to be... Generations pass and new faces are recognized. After hearing "Pacheco here, Pacheco there," "Pacheco is alive", "Pacheco saved Callahan"...
Callahan developed a hatred towards the old man who was now venturing into the dungeon, taking his title, taking his fame. Slowly eating away at his mind, this parasite drove Callahan mad. He would not allow an unworthy old knight to take his place as the great adventurer, so he would hunt down Pacheco to get rid of him and become the sole great adventurer of Athiquiem.
