Let's bring Ludus to life

 

The people of Rome are assembling and getting ready to celebrate - with vast amounts of fighting and blood-letting - and all at someone else's expense!

But, the Gladiatorial games are also a serious business - an opportunity for Senators to raise their profiles and buy popularity.  With Consular elections coming up Praetors from a range of provinces are seeking to win the most acclaim by putting on the best, most magnificent and most popular combats.

As Praetors from one of eight provinces, you will be bidding to build a ludus of eight combatants to entertain the crowds.

72 potential additions to your ludus (team of gladiators), nine from each province, are coming up for auction. You will have the opportunity to bid for some of these, but also for control over the auction system itself - determining whether your preferred potential combatants will become available for auction and which will not.

Your aim is to build the strongest ludus possible for the games - and of course to undermine everyone else's efforts to build theirs!
