Originally developed by Chris Clark & Gary Gygax in the early `90s, Castle Wolfmoon sends players to investigate the titular castle and defeat its monstrous master. Using Chris and Gary’s original drafts, the adventure series has expanded from the two first modules in 1998 and 1999, to six adventures across a complete campaign, alongside a full gazetteer for referencing NPCs, monsters, items, and more!
Featuring work from contributors across the TTRPG community, including Luke and Ernie Gygax, Heidi Gygax-Garland, Jim Wampler, Frank Mentzer, and Charity and Todd Stashwick, these system-agnostic adventures are a must-have for any collector of old-school RPGs.
Stretching from the base of the Fang Mountains into the Endless Sea, the peninsula known as the Finger of Death is the domain of the cunning Lucien and his vicious pack of wolfwere cultists. At its tip lies the seat of his power: Castle Wolfmoon. Once a lustrous trading hub, the Dwarven-built castle now lies shrouded in mist, blood, and secrets.
King Agrond has hired your adventurers to find his wayward daughter, but what should be a simple request cascades into a journey across land, space, and perhaps the planes themselves.
Is your party brave – or foolish – enough to navigate the treacherous wilds between civilization and the castle? Are you powerful enough to slay the pack before they turn you and your friends? Are you clever enough to defeat the machinations of the lord of Castle Wolfmoon?
Immeasurable Talent
System-Agnostic
Originally designed for AD&D, these adventures have been made system-agnostic. While old-school in tone and design, Castle Wolfmoon is flexible enough to coexist alongside any fantasy game system, new or old.
Two Classic Adventures Return
Updated from their original releases, these adventures serve as a prelude to guide your players to their ultimate destination, Castle Wolfmoon itself!
A Challenge of Arm's (1998) Introduce your players to the thieves’ guild of the kingdom of Argrond, a powerful group known as The Hand. Led by their one-armed leader, The Arm, they too are searching for the king’s daughter, but many other plots are also afoot, and the guild has learned caution. As a consequence, they test the characters to their very limits before sharing their knowledge of the king’s daughter.
The Ritual of the Golden Eyes (1999) The party discovers a vast and abandoned dwarven city. Magical items abound as do wolfweres, ghosts, and a host of creatures that have found their way into these once secure caverns. The trail of the princess leads the characters through the city, the mines it once served, and into some natural caves beyond. Can the characters rescue the princess? Or is she doomed to fate worse than death?
Four NEW Adventures
Cataract Swept into a series of underground caverns by a storm surge, the party encounters an entirely new humanoid species living in the sunless vaults. Will the party recover the gear they lost in the flood? Will they discover the intent and secrets of these newly-discovered fish-like people? Will they make it out alive, or be swept away into the deep?
Castle Wolfmoon Exordium
The harried party finally arrives at the outskirts of Castle Wolfmoon, the crumbling citadel that marks the tip of the cape. Lupine silhouettes on its broken parapets howl into the night. Just before they melt back into the darkness, their eyes catch the moonlight in a way that suggests they understand far too much.
Castle Wolfmoon Portals Surviving the gauntlet of the upper floors and finding no sign of their royal quarry, the party descends into the floors below. Within these dark halls lies a vast treasure vault, containing riches beyond dreams and walls studded with doorways that glow with an eerie light that suggests realms beyond what is known. Perhaps the princess can wait...
Castle Wolfmoon Depths Your party has hunted the elusive master of the castle into the bowels of his domain, down to the hidden laboratories where he fuses sorcery with strange devices scavenged from worlds you cannot name. Somewhere in this nightmare, the king’s daughter waits—if she still lives. Your courage has carried you this far, but the Depths of Castle Wolfmoon demand far more than bravery.
