🎉 What We Made Together

Collaboration makes everything more fun.

Edit

Fairy Seasons is an anthology filled with poetry and prose, all magically woven with delightful tales of fairy fun as well as horrifying stories highlight the fickle nature of fae beings. Fairy Seasons is inspired heavily by various imaginings of the seelie and unseelie courts, Good Fairies, Bad Fairies by Brian Froud, and so many more tales of magic, folklore, and tales. It is a must for lovers of lore, magic, mushrooms, and more!

Fairy, or fairy equivilent, are persistent figures in many-a mythos. They often toe-the-line between helpful and friendly or vindictive and vicious. Within all, there is a bit of mischief. The question is whether they use that mischief, and their innate magic, for good or ill-will.

In the Fairy Seasons anthology, one may meet an unexpected friend in the forest, join the hunt for a magic-gobbling witch, drink some fiery brews, then join in on a midsummer eve's joyous dance.

Of course, that's if you're lucky.

You never know when you'll meet a fierce creature bent on revenge, or a fairy looking for some not so harmless fun. Be careful what part of the woods you wander in, for it could be the last time you ever wander again.

I am not finished writing all the stories yet. As of right now, it sits at 50% finished. Initial writings will be done by January. More detail can be found in the Shipping and Timeline section.

While they say you should never step into a fairy circle, I say you should take that chance. Step into the ring and see what magics await you within. What I'm asking isn't always so easy to go along with, I know. Don't let go until we're through the realm, and we'll get through just fine.

Fairy Seasons contains stories and poetry crafted with passion and a deep love of story-craft. With the help of backers, I'll be able to bring this book into being. I'm hard at work, writing the stories and poems, drawing rudimentary character designs, and more.

With the support of those who believe in my work (and in fairies), and believe in me, I will be able to hire an editor to proofread my work - to catch typos, find the odd areas that need clarification, and so on.

Fairy Seasons is full of imagination, creativity, and echos of the mythos of not-so-long ago and yet, from times of the ancients. This book is a project of my dreams, a true piece of my heart, and probably a bit of my soul.

By a strike of fortune, I was able to hire one of my favorite artists, Thomas S Brown, to conjure up something quite special for the cover. His particular type of magic with pencil and color is but one part of Fairy Seasons.
Edit

I have many funding goals for this campaign. And for each goal reached, I plan to release something real special for everyone.

If my first funding goal is reached, I'll release a fun little graphic that can be used as a an emoji or printed as a sticker. If you like otters, you'll love the winged otter that will mark this achievement. Why an otter? Because I wish to hire Otter Editing for this very important task.

Yes, we have spoken. I'm excited to work with them. Nothing is set in stone until I have finished the manuscript, though.

For my second goal, I wish to hire a couple of awesome artists to add their illustrative spin on the characters and stories within Fairy Seasons. I have queried a few artists whose work and style would best fit a fairy-tale vibe.

It's pretty hard to narrow it down and choose, though. There's so many amazing, talented folks out there! And, while I am an artist myself, I really love to highlight and work with others who have different styles and specialties than I do.

For the third, definitive goal, once reached, I will be releasing special hardcovers with embellishments. It will be a limited run of these special books.
Edit

Note: The digital version has more things simply because downloads are easier and cheaper to do than most physical things. However, I plan to throw fun extras into all things when I send things off.

Note about Into Another Realm: This tier is a physical prize tier. All the items are physical.

Note about A Friend of the Fairy: There are seven available spots for this tier. I'll be using moss agates for the crystals in the necklace necklaces.

Edit

Name in Fairy Seasons: This add-on is for people who really want their name in Fairy Seasons, but don't want to (or can't) do either of my two higher (physical prize) pledges. It's also a great add-on for supporting the project - especially if you're going with all digital rewards.

Edit

As of now, Fairy Seasons all writing will be completely finished by February Then the editing process begins. The layout is planned to be finished by Mid-2026. Then, before the Holiday 2026 release date, books will be sent out to backers.

As for the rest of the physical items, they will be sent out at the same time as the books for ease. I will make sure everything is all cozied up together.

Backerkit, by the way, charges shipping after a project is completed. It also charged separately from your pledge amount. So, please keep that in mind. I know shipping rate change a lot and things can get a little crazy. I will try my best to make sure that shipping rates are as fair as possible. If shipping rates are, well, too much, please consider the digital tiers instead.

By the way, I can now ship internationally at lower rates. I will ship to most places except the EU (sorry!).

I will keep everyone updated with, at the very least, monthly updates. I also don't think bi-monthly updates are unreasonable.

Edit

I'm many things, and describe myself as such: a spooky pickle, several ferrets and opossums in a trench coat; dressed in clown gear, a lover of many-a art, and above all - a weirdo.

I think I filled all those shoes quite well. The clown shoes especially. I have pretty big feet.

But does that really tell anyone all that much about me? Well, for some, yes. Others, well, I wouldn't blame you for not getting it. Half the time, I don't understand it myself. I simply know that I am.

Ever since I was a wee tot, I've made up stories in my head. I'd act them out in my room with legos, barbies, and my beloved dollar store marbles. I definitely dabbled in world building before I knew what that was. Eventually, the stories I told myself became things I wrote on paper. Or, mostly, daydreamed about writing down.

I was encouraged by my teacher in 3rd grade to keep writing. She even bought me a cute, green journal to write in. I still have it to this day. And yes, it's filled with absolutely terrible poetry. But, hey! We all have to start somewhere.

Over the years, my writing has gotten better and better. I'll admit, I still have plenty of room to improve but, I am also pretty damn decent at this writing thing if I do say so myself. I've seen my improvement with every project. Currently, I have three published books.

And, well, that's me!
