1000: Time Paradox - a queer Australian time travel sci-fi

A journey of love, loss, time travel, and growing up told in conversational first person by a shit-head 23 year old. 1000: Time Paradox is for anyone who has been on the wrong side of 25 and thought they were invincible.

Six months ago Aussie boy Dean Harris broke up with his boyfriend. He thought he was doing ok, that he'd moved on. So when Dean sees his ex with a new boyfriend at a local gig he doesn't expect all the old feelings to come back.

Like any 23 year old, Dean gets drunk, sends some texts he really shouldn't, and discovers a curious iphone app that promises he can time travel away from his heartache. Y'know, the usual.

When Dean wakes up 130 years ahead of when he went to sleep, with a hangover and a bad mood, he doesn't expect to find out how he's going to die. Or that it's by time paradox, or that that fact means he's the leader of a world where your blood is quantum locked to how you'll die. From the moment you're born you carry that knowledge with you in the form of a number tattooed on your wrist.

For the next 60 hours, (the worst long weekend ever), Dean has to navigate the Melbourne of the future, his death, a stint in jail and the reality of this new stratified society. In a world where your death is worn proudly on your arm, secrets don't stay hidden for long. Dean finally realises that his actions have consequences, and for the first time in his life, no one is going to bail him out.
