Question 1

Terms & Conditions

Accepted Answer

By pledging to this project, you are agreeing to all information, terms, and conditions in the following FAQ sections.

Backer Responsibility
As a backer you are responsible for completing your survey and paying shipping fees within a timely manner, to receive your rewards. As creators we are only able to communicate with backers through project updates and reminder emails (email correspondence will be sent to the email on file for your pledge). As a backer it is your responsibility to check and read project updates, and to check for survey emails. If you fail to stay updated and do not complete your survey, you could forfeit your rewards. (Read more about reward forfeiture below)

Manufacturing
I'll be using trusted manufacturers that i've worked with before, but occasionally things happen and there are minor delays in manufacturing.

I will always be upfront with backers along the way. I will disclose any setbacks, delays, and any other pertinent updates.

It's important to understand that this is a crowdfunded campaign. Crowdfunded campaigns are often subject to delays due to unforeseen circumstances. Please also understand that money pledged to a crowdfunded campaign is a donation or investment. This is not an online store and you will not immediately receive your rewards after pledging.

Please note that minor changes may occur in production, and that the images presented here are my mock up designs. There is a possibility of slight changes in color and size in the physical item.

Refunds or Exchanges
After the campaign has ended, you will have ample time to make your design selections in your BackerKit survey. You will be notified before surveys are locked down and any add-ons are charged. Once your order is locked down, we have a no refunds or exchanges policy. The only time we will issue a refund or replacement, is in extenuating circumstances, or if your pin arrives damaged (please read the section on pin grades to determine if your pin is damaged). If you believe your pin was damaged in transit, please reach out to us immediately and attach photos of the damaged pin.

Forfeiture of Rewards
Once project shipping is completed backers will be notified via a campaign update. This campaign update with have a final survey completion date. If your survey is not completed, and your shipping costs not paid by the completion date, you will forfeit your pledge payment and rewards. We will not fulfill forfeited rewards and pledge levels after the completion date.

Extra freebies
If you have qualified for free items like; Returning backer free item, group project free item, partner project free item, or if free items are unlocked for all backers during a campaign, and you DO NOT fill out your survey by the required survey date, these items will all be REMOVED from your order.
If your card has failed and you have not fixed your payment method by this date, these items will all be REMOVED from your order. The closing survey date is provided so that we may get an accurate count of products needed and the money is used to purchase those items.

Lost or never received packages - Forfeiture of rewards
We make every attempt to get your package from our facility to your home. Packages for this campaign will come with a tracking number. Regardless of tracking numbers, sometimes packages are lost in the mail. We will notify backers with an update when the project is near completion. If you have not received your package by the completion of the shipping process, you will have an extended period of time to contact us about a missing package. If you do not contact us within that extended period of time about a lost or never received package, you will forfeit your rewards and we will not provide a refund or re-ship your rewards.

Rubber Backs vs. Locking Backs
Each pin from our campaign will come with rubber backs, but we highly recommend purchasing locking backs. If you choose to adhere your pin to a jacket, bag, or other item, with a rubber back, and it falls off, we will not replace the missing pin. We do offer locking backs through our add-ons section in your survey.

Question 2

How do I choose my pin/ magnet designs?

Accepted Answer

Roughly 2 weeks after the campaign has ended you will receive a survey from BackerKit. That survey that will ask you for the pin design choices for your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.

The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.

Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.

Question 3

How do I contact you?

Accepted Answer

Please send me an email at Info@laserbrainpatchco.com

BackerKit does not notify me of new comments or discussion in a timely manner. If you comment or start a new discussion thread, it may not be seen for multiple days. Email is best.

Question 4

When will I be charged?

Accepted Answer

Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.

Question 5

Art vs Finished products:

Accepted Answer

It is crucial to understand that while I have made pins before, the pins in this BackerKit have not yet been manufactured. The designs you see on this page are mockups, which means the final product may vary in color and size. From my experience, the majority of my pins turn out looking like the mockup design.

Different computers, phones, and other devices have different screen settings which means coloration may vary between screens. I use a Pantone Solid Coated book to choose the colors for my designs. The manufacturers use those Pantone numbers to know which colors to mix and apply where, however, looking at a Pantone swatch on paper is different than looking at a Pantone color in enamel. Each mockup has a rough estimate of what the size will be. My sizes are either specifying the general height or width of the pin. The actual size of the physical product may vary.

Glitters, translucent enamel, sand blasted enamel, pearl enamel, and metal plating colors may vary on the physical product.

Question 6

About pin grading:

Accepted Answer

All of our pins are Standard grade, art pins unless otherwise stated.

Pins are a primarily a handmade item, and as such are not usually perfect. My pins are NOT priced or listed as fantasy pins, and therefor the quality is going to be Standard, wearable quality. (Most other pin makers would list these as A+ to A- grade pins, these are not flawed pins)

Standard Grade: Meant to be worn or used! Free of major defects but *may* exhibit minor imperfections such as: tiny stray glitter specs, superficial tiny bubble in enamel or epoxy coating, tiny specs of missing enamel in the very tiny spots, slightly lower fill in some areas, imperfections in the metal on the sides or back of the pin, superficial scratches to metal surfaces (especially large metal areas), superficial paint drops or bleeds, or slight discoloring against screen printed edges. Standard orders may be filled as collector's grade, but are not guaranteed as such. All of my pins are promised to be standard grade unless ordered otherwise. If there are any of these imperfections they are subtle.

Question 7

Do you use backing cards? What kind of packaging do you use?

Accepted Answer

Items are not individually carded. Each pin/ magnet comes in a small baggie to prevent scratches or marks. I use beautiful paper envelopes and place all of the pins and magnets inside. Some orders may need multiple envelopes. I then use high quality padded bubble mailers or boxes and bubble wrap if there is a pinboard. I try to use recycled packaging as often as possible, but will not risk damage to your products by choosing lower quality packaging.

Question 8

timeline:

Accepted Answer

I live by my schedule, and while sometimes things don't work out as planned, I will make every effort possible to stick to my schedule.

I will maintain a scheduled timeline and list all of my expectations on the story section, and I will update it 1-2 times a month. I will also post updates on the update section.

I personally do not like wasting time, so I will never let a project take longer than necessary.
Please check my timeline for the dates the project is open and closed, along with the dates your survey is due and the cut off date for freebies.

Question 9

REFUNDS?

Accepted Answer

Refunds or Exchanges
After the campaign has ended, you will have ample time to make your design selections in your BackerKit survey. You will be notified before surveys are locked down and any add-ons are charged. Once your order is locked down, we have a no refunds or exchanges policy.

The money you pay into the project becomes part of my budget, levels are unlocked, freebies are given out, and my item count is based on your order. I use your money to buy your items immediately. While it takes time for those items to be made, they're already ordered and paid for.

Question 10

What if I don't fill out my survey on time? or my Payment method fails?

Accepted Answer

All items will be ordered by the survey closing date so you must have your survey completed and your payment method fixed by the survey DUE DATE.

If you do not fix your payment method: All freebies will be deleted and your order may be canceled. If this happens more than once, you might be banned from future backerkit projects. Please email me if you have a payment issue.

If you do not fill out your survey on time:
I make my order based on the numbers in the survey. If you do not fill out your survey, I might not have the correct numbers of items and I might not have the items you wanted. If this happens you will not get a refund.

Extra freebies:
If you have qualified for free items like; Returning backer free item, group project free item, partner project free item, or if free items are unlocked for all backers during a campaign, and you DO NOT fill out your survey by the required survey date, these items will all be REMOVED from your order.
If your card has failed and you have not fixed your payment method by this date, these items will all be REMOVED from your order. The closing survey date is provided so that we may get an accurate count of products needed and the money is used to purchase those items. You will still receive your purchased backerkit items if they are available, but all free items are forfeit.

Question 11

Knick knack /Magnet Info:

Accepted Answer

You can choose the knick knacks to be enamel pins or enamel magnets. If you choose the magnet open it will be exactly the same as the enamel pin, but instead of a post, there will be a magnet which will stick to the back magnetically. Some are glued to the back and some stick on with magnetic force. This gives you more flexibility. Magnets are earth magnets so they will be different sizes and strengths. They work like magnets, so they will stick to metal. Some might be stronger than others and you might have to adjust them to get them to stay in the position you want.
