Amongst the shattered cliffs of the Firetide Archipelago lies a safe haven for magical beasts. Chief among them are dragons. Your job as a Dragoneer is to watch over the dragons in your care. Are you prepared to take to the skies?

Scales & Tales is a two to four player hand management card game where you collect resources and level up your new scaly friend. Along the way, you will compete against other players in friendly races, strut your stuff in dragon beauty pageants, and earn points as your dragon grows and your bond strengthens. Scales & Tales features thirty-six unique illustrations and a total of two-hundred and thirty-eight cards. Gameplay incorporates friendly competition with other players in order to raise the stakes, while simultaneously creating space for positive player interaction. Players may choose to compete with one another by playing action cards, or collaborate by bartering resources. Points are earned by collecting resource cards and leveling up your dragon. Each dragon type requires different resources to level up, so each player experience is unique. Points can also be earned by participating in activities that allow you to bond with your dragon. No matter how you play, all of the actions in the game center around taking care of your winged companion. As long as you have your dragon by your side, everybody wins! Each dragon is uniquely designed with special focus on anatomy to make them feel more believable. The card, box, and rulebook illustrations were drawn in photoshop then printed onto heavyweight gloss paper. Each of the two-hundred and thirty-eight cards were cut out by hand.
