This project aims to produce various soundtracks tailored toward different genres and settings TTRPGs are usually played in, which will be available to use privately, or on streams!
Nat19 is a company dedicated to producing TTRPG content based on its JRPG-inspired setting, Somnus Domina! Normally, we crowdfund to release new books with classes, races, monsters, etc., for D&D, but this project is a bit different! We have been producing original music for our live plays, and have often been asked if others can use the soundtracks we have made, which we produce exclusively for our games. We decided to go further beyond, and want to release soundtracks for TTRPGs that everyone can use at their tables, streams, or jam to while writing or prepping games!
This project aims to produce at least 6 tracks that can be used for TTRPGs, as themes for battle, exploration, tragedy, romance, mystery, and more! As our stretch goals take us further, we want to aim to make up to a total of six soundtracks, which will be released through BackerKit to those who back here, and also sold on all the usual platforms, such as Apple Music.
Depending on the funding for the campaign, we will be aiming to make up to six soundtracks, each of which will have 6-12 tracks. Each will be tailored for a different type of setting. The first soundtrack will be a traditional high-fantasy soundtrack, which can be used in almost all TTRPG games. After this, once the campaign is done we will let backers vote on which soundtracks the following ones will be. The themes of the soundtracks we have planned are below:
The first soundtrack, with music that should be suitable for traditional D&D games, meant for exploring ancient ruins, battling godlike dragons, forging divine artifacts, and all the tropes you’d come to expect from a quest undertaken by a team of adventurers!
This theme will imagine songs meant to accompany an exploration of the divine and arcane in the cosmos - a world where vessels sail the cosmos, navigating black holes while still chasing interstellar dragons and demons. This soundtrack will draw from materials like Final Fantasy, Promare, and Gurren Lagann.
A well-known tone for D&D games, lending itself to misty castles, lost dread realms, fiendish invasions, and tales of vampires and undeath. The soundtrack is meant to best accompany settings like Ravenloft or Nat19’s own Honokuni, and will be inspired by material like Castlevania, Curse of Strahd, and The Walking Dead.
Setting itself apart from the Science Fantasy theme, this one will focus on more genuinely technological sounds. It will focus on settings that feature technology in the absence of the mysteries of the arcane, taking from material such as Gundam, Cyberpunk, Star Trek, and Cowboy Bebop.
The modern fantasy theme will aim for a more jovial, contemporary tone, taking inspiration from projects that depict fantastic events in modern settings. It will draw from material like Baccano, Bleach, Persona, and other fantastic contemporary settings.
The final optional theme will focus on wild environments and deep dungeons, aiming to evoke the wild, untamed desperation of deep jungles, ancient ruins, roaring volcanoes, and other locales that might be found in campaigns focused on charting the unexplored.
Unique Backer Incentives
Backers will receive the rewards described in their tiers and add-ons, but as an added bonus, special “extended loop” versions will be made available for backers, manually edited to be long, seamless loops of the tracks that can be played without finessing. Backers will also be able to vote on which soundtracks they’d like to see made, assuming we get past the first handful of stretch goals!

Below are example cuts of music we have made for Nat19's live show, composed by the amazingly talented October Williamson, who will also be composing the tracks for this project!
How many tracks we make is based on how far we get with crowdfunding! The costs are a balance between the commitment needed from our composer and the time it will take to work through everything! For backers here, all soundtracks produced through this campaign will be included in your pledge!
Alongside the music this project focuses on, we're also offering our major TTRPG books in PDF/VTT form at a discount through the project! If you purchase them through reward tiers or add-ons, they will be delivered to you once the project collects its funds! This project is offering the following books (click the titles to check out their DTRPG pages):
