There are three card types in the decks, providing inspiration for preparing a setting for a role playing game (or fiction). Get a sample deck PDF here!
LOCATION CARDS provide a picture on one side, and a series of options on the other. You can randomize a location, or choose ideas you like best. The ideas give anchor points for your own creativity as you customize the result to fit your setting. Each card can inspire many unique locations!
TRAIT CARDS can modify your locations to make them even more distinctive and interesting. You may have a haunted graveyard... but now it also hosts a criminal element–or maybe it is a base for a warrior tradition. Each trait has multiple prompts to ensure more flavor for your sites.
REFERENCE CARDS provide distilled hex crawl/player driven campaign guidance and general ideas for how to get the most out of the locations and traits.
We currently plan four DECK THEMES: a wilderness focused deck, a settled areas deck, a deck of 'underrealms' locations, and a deck of stranger places.
Our 3"x3.46" HEX MINIMAP TILES will feature art by Dyson Logos (with a partial grid under it) on one side and have blank 1" hex grids on the other side. The set will be at least 56 tiles plus a pack of 50 stickers for forts, cities, villages, towers, dungeons, etc. The tiles will be laminated so if you use a dry erase marker to add in special locations, roads, rivers, and coasts you can reuse them. Or if you want to make those permanent, use another pen or marker. Download a zip file here! It has 25 samples and a blank as individual images or as larger images set up to print 5 per page. Note: These are mock-ups, the final designs by design will be more cohesive.
