Project Update: Thank You

Shortly after midnight this morning, Mega Dungeon Month and the Castle Whiterock Backerkit campaign finally came to an end. After three days of Overtime Mode, the gates to the castle swung shut, but not before achieving the penultimate stretch goal of Mike’s Big Ass GM’s Screen. Congratulations and a sincere thank you to all our backers for making this crowdfunding campaign a stellar success. Not only did we fund Castle Whiterock, but also more than a dozen other Castle Whiterock-themed game releases achieved their goals. As I’ve said before, we couldn’t do it without your faith in us.

Things are going to be a little quiet for awhile around these parts as we recover from Dungeon Con 2 and focus on getting the Castle Whiterock sets and their associated stretch goals and add-ons finalized. But we will keep you updated regularly with their progress.

I can, however, reveal that Joseph Goodman is talking with the printer about the possibility of including clear packets for the BAGS, which so many of you requested. If that proves feasible, it will make the BAGS completely customizable, allowing you to use whatever tables and charts you might need for your game system of choice. We’ll update you with more once we have an answer.

Until then, let me extend the thanks of the entire Goodman Games gang for making Castle Whiterock our third most successful crowdfunding campaign even and for your ongoing trust and fanaticism when it comes to making great gaming products for your home tables. We often say our fans are the best simply because you prove it again and again. Castle Whiterock was no exception.

Project Update: Unlocked! New Stretch Goals Added!

Like true warriors, you have overcome every achievement—leaving all obstacles crushed under your iron boots!

So, we added some new stretch goals. Here is the line up:

  • The "Devious Door Randomizer" added to each book.
  • The "Quick Start" dungeon added to each book.
  • Dunn's Torch: an app we will develop (free to each backer) to track torches, lanterns and magic light at the table. Featuring an animated Dunn the Dwarf, so you feel safe and secure as you delve!
  • The posters (early bird, reservation, and add-on editions) all oversized for added epic gameplay.
  • The "Build a Boss" section added to each book. Craft your epic dungeon boss with this killer tool!

At this level, we will create a "Devious Door Randomizer" for the book. No two portals will look alike with this table of trapped, tricked out, and tremendous archways, gates, portals, hatches, secret doors, or portcullises!

Project Update: Sort of Back and Progress Updates

Hey folks, gonna keep it short because the simple summary is–things are progressing!

Art sketches are coming in--it looks my by count like we've got about half of them in. After I provide some feedback (mostly "yes, please!"), Mac will begin work on inking the sketches! As that wraps up, Sean will add them to the layout.

Meanwhile, Sean is working on the Fifth Edition conversion of the adventure, currently playtesting!

As art and the 5e conversion are getting done, I'll be doing a walk-through of the copy to look for any missed typos, places that should be bolded or italicized, that sort of thing. Once that's done, we'll duplicate the book and swap DCC references and stats for 5e equivalents.

So things are moving along! I hope everybody's summer is kicking off well and I'll make sure to get some art previews in future updates as complete work comes in.

Project Update: An Interdimensional Aftershock

Hello Backers,

It has been about a month since the campaign for Siege on the Cerulean Spire drew to a close!
Thank you for your patience as we have been working on layout and survey details.

We have received nearly all of our art assets, and we are nearing completion of the backer survey so that you can submit all of your details to get this epic ascent into your hands! In the meantime, you all deserve another sneak peek at what is coming down the pipeline.

Backers who completed the Lost Level of Castle Whiterock deserve some splendor in their exploration of long-forgotten caverns. And for the rest of our backers, what's a good DCC crawl without a bonus encounter to fit into one of your future adventures, fitted with dark and ominous mechanisms beyond the knowledge of mortal men?

Joe Porkio did not disappoint in his rendition...
Prepare yourselves for the Portentous Portal:
Maybe it just needs some eye drops?

Project Update: smoke test


Hi Everyone!

The Pledge Manager for The Carnivorous Cauldron is ready and should be open in a day or two. I've sent out the smoke test and we've already had a few people respond, so the sooner we get those in, the faster I can get the Pledge Manager and Preorder Store open for you all. Stay tuned, we're almost there.

Additional updates, if you're interested...

Busy time of year!

KINLESS 1.2 (with the limited edition silver foil vegvisir cover) is at the warehouse (along with Kinless 8-die sets) and shipping to distribution in early June. Stores should be getting them in mid-late June.

EDZ #4 (plus more) is still waiting on a few survey stragglers. EDZ #4 is done, EDZ #5 is in layout, TftT #2 is awaiting an article, but is in layout otherwise, sMåB #2 is in early layout, and DZ is almost ready for layout.

All writing, art, and layout for The Carnivorous Cauldron is done. Waiting on the Triglin minis to arrive, but what I've seen looks great.

The Eye of God just got the 'ready for launch' approval and that kicks off on Monday, June 1st. All writing and layout are done aside from a couple pieces of filler art. This is the first adventure in our new Apocalyptic Adventure! line. You can find it here.

In addition, the 5e version of Evil Never Dies had an edit pass, and is waiting on my to review. The 5e version of Vault of the Murderworm and The Wormfather's Apprentice will be a single volume and are awaiting an editor.

Heroic Adventure! #4 - Veins of the Fallen is still in progress, but *may* miss the Q3/Q4 window.

I've also got a Weird Frontiers book in progress, and some other stuff bubbling away, and probably 3 more things I've forgotten to mention here.
