Project Update: Update 14 ▫️ The One About Certain Fathoms, One Year Later
Hello hello hello,
Today is the one-year anniversary of Mothership Month 2025, and of the kickoff of Certain Fathoms. Absolute insanity at how time flies. A lot has changed since then and what started as lofty dreams became incredible (and sometimes frustrating) reality.
Last time we chatted I mentioned the following:
..., the Certain Fathoms PDF will be releasing before the end of September, Hostile Takeover + Viewer Discretion PDFs following shortly behind in late September or early October. From there, Employee of the Month + Echo Chamber PDFs will be in the month of October, followed lastly by the Secret Levels PDF in November.
For all intents and and purposes, that plan was on track. And then the INDD file I was using for Certain Fathoms stopped opening (or rather, crashed InDesign every time I opened it, with no error report to debug).
I tried to fix it, ultimately sending it to Adobe to take a look at (shoutout to [email protected]) and hopefully figure it out. And then they sent this back about a week and a half later:
This was about a week ago. I spent the time they had the file continuing work on Hostile Takeover and Viewer Discretion and, honestly, I spent the week after getting this email doing more of the same. News like this always knocks the wind out of your sails and I put off hopping right back into it.
Thankfully, it's not the end of the world.
Not All Doom & Gloom
Transparently, this means I've lost about three weeks of work.
All said and done, this isn't as huge of a problem as it might seem:
- The big, framework-level design decisions for the layout are still there.
- I remember most everything I ended up doing for the layout.
It will just take time to re-implement everything before sending out final PDFs. So: still annoying, still lengthens the timeline - but ultimately fixable.
I want to take a moment and say how much I appreciate everyone's patience with all this. I know it can be extremely frustrating receiving delays over and over again. It was never my intention to have things lingering this far out, but life always manages to find a way.
All that said, to give myself ample time to make sure things don't break again AND to make sure you get final, working files, my drop-dead delivery date for Certain Fathoms, Hostile Takeover, and Viewer Discretion PDFs is set for Thursday, November 12 - exactly one year after the campaign ended in 2025.
For those looking to the new hotness (or hot newness) in the Mothership scene, lots of cool things are on the horizon: I'm very intrigued by SOPHONT which uses the PANIC Engine that Mothership is built on. If you want to learn more about the game aside from the very cool campaign page, Sean McCoy himself gave an interview with BRITTLE STAR, the brains behind SOPHONT, on his blog - go check it out!

Project Update: Update: Home Stretch & Shipping Delays
It's been a busy period since our last update as we've worked hard to get everything off to the printing press for publication! With the recent announcement by TKG we thought it'd be good to give a current prognosis on the state of things here!
In our last update we mentioned that our stretch goals were being printed and packaged for sending to you! However we wanted to make some last-minute modifications to Unions & You so it could be the best possible quality so it's currently being combined with our print order for the main zine.
Many of you will likely have seen the TKG announcement a couple of weeks ago stating that all shipping will be delayed until March 2027. However we are incredibly close to a full digital publication! With full editing and reviewing completed we're currently setting up the digital PDF for distribution as soon as possible so that we can make sure all our Backers can get a copy of Cleaning Crew!
Watch this space as our next update should (fingers crossed) be our digital release!
Thanks,
Chris & Ed

Project Update: Timeline and First Look!
First, a quick update on the timeline– All fulfillment for the group collaboration will be delayed until March 2027. Aside from Bombs Bursting in Air and Roach Motel, all projects in the collaboration will ship together at the same time. We are working with the other creators to make sure everyone is on the right track for the March 2027 fulfillment date so you can enjoy what we’ve all created.
We think Prospero’s Dream will be worth the wait.
As you all are aware, this mega pledge manager was a BIG undertaking. Much of the logistical work has been done by our Production Manager, Daniel.
As he’s been collating information from the two dozen projects into this single pledge manager, Daniel has checked and edited over 130 products and pledge levels to ensure pricing and data matches and established a "Rosetta Stone" of new shared terminology between items codes so that data provided by creators and data provided by our mega pledge manager can be interpreted and translated by the forwarding companies.
TLDR: A mega pledge manager of this scale has never been done before, but Daniel has been working very hard to see that it’s done right. It’s taking more time than originally anticipated, but he’s doing everything he can to make fulfillment for MM25 and Prospero’s Dream as smooth as possible.
Last, just a reminder that you have a little over a week to apply for the Jump-9 Writer’s Grant. Three up-and-coming writers will be awarded $9,000 each to help them publish their Mothership third party adventure. Click here to learn more about the grant or submit your application. Winners will be announced during Mothership Month 26, but applications close next Wednesday September 30th, 2026.
That’s all for now! We appreciate your support of all things TKG and Mothership Month 25. Please reach out to my old pal Tyler at [email protected] if you have any questions or problems. Thanks for reading!
Project Update: Project Update: stand\DELIVER & Mothership Month 25
Hello to you all from The Dek,
The Mega-Pledge fulfillment is delayed until March 2027
I'm happy to say that stand\DELIVER and all its add-ons and amenities have been completed on time, have shipped to their respective warehouses, and are awaiting TKG. The delay is a big bummer, but TKG has been busting tail to get this all out to you, and a mega-pledge manager is a huge undertaking for anyone, especially with 28 projects to coordinate.
Convention Blog
If you're a Michigan local or willing to travel, UCon is in November. More on that to come, but we will be running a bunch of Mothership, as well as a Pirate Borg Tournament: Into the Maelstrom, Father Fog & my new game: Tales from the Tape Deck, and more! Suffety Games is hosting a room full of games all weekend, or catch us at Booth 7/8.
Lastly, to close out the year, I'll be at PAXU with Mythworks and running some Pirate Borg with Limithron.
Be sure to catch Yamil and me at PAGE 4 in January with Tales from the Tape Deck in hand and games to play!

Project Update: Fulfillment + cross-collab update
So, an update many of you likely have via Tuesday Knight Games' Propsero's Dream campaign: fulfillment is delayed until March 2027. I'm as disappointed as many of you, and understand any frustration. Unfortunately, this is one of the risks of a group fulfillment. You can read the full update here: https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/tuesday-knight-games/mouths-to-feed/updates/52717
That said, I can confirm everything on our end has been shipped off to the distributors. As soon as TKG moves forward with fulfillment, Sunlit Path will be on the way! Again, I know it's maybe not the news folks were hoping for, but I am confident we'll hit that March 2027 fulfillment date.
I also wanted to provide an update on the cross-collab with Extrajudicial Warfare. Originally, the plan was for Ryan and I to work on a pamphlet release together providing a system for betting on the gladitorial arena. Well, nearly a year later and space freed up in my schedule and closed in Ryan's. So, rather than delay until our schedules line up again, I'm going to move ahead and finish up the cross-collaboration bonus on my end.
This new release is called Sunlit Soldiers. It'll be a set of NPC gladiators from the Sunlit Path, replete with art by myself and Roque Romero! Ryan has giving the plan her blessing (and I will send the final pamphlet to her to approve). My aim is to have this to y'all by the end of November, and likely sooner. I'll send an update here, and it'll be pushed out via Backerkit like the rest of the digital files you've received. In the meantime, here's the WIP cover:
Lastly, I wanted to say thank you again from Ryan and I. We're both very proud of the Sunlit Path, and it wouldn't have happened without your support. Thank you!
Signing off,
Joshua
Project Update: Flatline Update September 2026: Fulfillment Update
Hello Dreamers,
Megapledge Fulfillment Delay: March 2027
As mentioned last month, the production and shipping portion of our work on Flatline on the Blocks completed on schedule, and now is in TKG's hands. Usually, big collaborative projects like ours tend to run behind schedule quicker than most, and I was proud our team delivered on the timeline that TKG originally put forth.
Naturally, we're bummed about this delay, but that was the risk of trying out this totally new Megapledge Manager feature. Plus, it's not like TKG was dragging their feet. The 3pp coordinator, Daniel Hallinan (also author of VR_DEAD and Bloom) has been a star throughout the process, helping manage and coordinate the multinational logistics over twenty projects with creators from all the corners of the world. At least it will literally be worth the wait, saving y'all loads in shipping fees.
REMINDER: You must complete the Megapledge Manager to receive your pledges, even digital ones!

Thanks for reading, folks, and see ya next month.
All best,

Project Update: Regarding the Delay (& Shadowdropping a Bonus Pamphlet)
Ultimately though, rest assured that tons of hard work is behind done behind the scenes to coordinate everything, and I am glad we will get to ship alongside our fellow creators in the end! I'd hate to have left anyone behind, and I very much trust that the wait will be worth it. For the moment, we are just wishing TKG and every one of our MM25 fellows the best in delivering some truly banger modules. We hope you will too!
Alright, now it's good news time. To help make the wait a little more bearable, Michael and I have completed Grim Merchants Vendor #6 as a bonus digital pamphlet! It's available to download at the link below in the Backer-Only section of this update, and should be available in the next week or so alongside your Mega-Pledge Manager downloads as well.
Note that this is a digital-only reward - Michael and I whipped this up ourselves without any budget except our time and human energy (including the art!), so unfortunately a print run to go along with it just wouldn't be feasible. If we ever do physicals, it'll be after March fulfillment at the very earliest, probably alongside the wide physical release of Grim Merchants itself on the TKG store. So enjoy, print at home, and if you're not yet familiar with the Providers, you're in for a horrifying treat!
That's everything from us. Once again, we're sorry for the delay. The Spring can't come soon enough!
