May Update
Whoa!

I hope everybody is doing well, and your dice don't get too sweaty in this early summer heat.

Not much to report other than we are working on it. It is still a labor of love for us, and we are working hard to reach the finish line.

We're still on course to keep our commitment of: all our books are coming out this year

I will keep you updated, and thanks so much for coming along on this ride with us.

Stay safe out there (and cool), and may the dice always roll in your favor.

Whoa! I've got a fun new project
Ahoy!

I hope all you fine Fairhavenites are feeling groovy and the spring finds you weird, wild, and free.

I just wanted to stop in and chat you up about a project I launched on BackerKit that I am super pumped about. A Dark Double Feature: Of A Harmonious Nature and Nothing Left To Lose on BackerKit.

Here is the synopsis:

Ham & Egg Publishing joins forces with prolific TTRPG writer Levi Combs to bring you a dark double feature designed for use with Shadowdark RPG. Two adventures. Two flavors of horror. One unforgettable campaign.

If Of a Harmonious Nature was written to be the best parts of an A24 film in the Hammer Horror style, then Nothing Left to Lose is SAW in H.H. Holmes' Murder Castle. This is horror with range: slow dread and frenzied ritual on one side, desperate survival in absolute darkness on the other.

You can check out a FREE PDF Preview here!

And watch a live play here!

I hope you check it out!

Stay safe out there, and may the dice always roll in your favor.

Ahoy!

It’s your ole’ buddy Hambone here with a quick shipping update! The hardcovers arrived much later than expected, but…ALL BOOKS HAVE SHIPPED!!!*

*There are a few who haven’t updated their addresses, so we will be following up with emails to get that sorted.

We cannot thank you enough for the support. I hope you love playing it and reading it as much as I did writing it. I left it all on the page.

So that is it for this campaign. There are a few i’s left to dot and t’s to cross, but for now, THAT’S ALL, FOLKS!

Stay weird.

-JHM

P.S. In the words of the great detective Columbo, “Just one more thing.”

Well, two actually.

First up, tomorrow is the last day to support Under the Shadow of the Noon-Day Witch on Kickstarter. It is the first-ever 3PP adventure for Sickest Witch RPG, and Sally, Geo, and I are having a blast writing it.

We're in the home stretch!

Please do me a solid and check it out.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/johnhambonemcguire/under-the-shadow-of-the-noon-day-witch?ref=discovery&term=The%20Shadow%20of%20the%20Noon%20Day%20Witch&total_hits=1&category_id=34

Secondly, speaking of Fairhaven, the town’s founder, Joey Royale, has a brand-new 3PP adventure for Mausritter, Tails from the Night Market, launching today on Backerkit.

This is going to be super cool.

Here is the synopsis.

Since the Night Market opened a month ago, micefolk have traveled from miles around to revel in culinary delights and exotic entertainment. Everybody wants a paw in on the action, and it all comes with a cost. STEP RIGHT UP!

October Update/Delivery ETA!
Ahoy!

Hambone here with an October update.

First off, apologies for the delay in updates on the delivery of the physical copies of Days. I got the testers back, and there was an issue with the quality, so I had to work with the printer to resolve it. I won’t bore you with the details, but it took a couple of weeks and a lovely chat with management to get the job done.

Days test copy.

The great news is that everything is being printed as we speak. I should have the books in hand next week, then off to you the next day (unless it is Sunday).

We've also got A Girl Named Doom in hand and ready to go! Look at this cover!!!

A Girl Named Doom, cover by Zach Giallongo

One more slight hiccup, though, we had to make a small pivot, and the endpaper in the Hardcover will be Black instead of Coral Pink. Sorry about that.

That said, I can't wait to get these into your hands and hear about the fun you had playing the adventure with your friends. I ran it at ShireCon a couple of weeks back and had Joey Royale sit in. It was a blast!

In other news, Ham & Egg Publishing has a cool new project happening that I would love you to check out.

Cover by Sally Cantirino

We were asked by the creator of Sickest Witch, Justin Sirois of Severed Books, to create the first 3PP adventure for Sickest Witch. So we are stoked to launch Under the Shadow of the Noon-Day Witch on Kickstarter. Here is the synopsis.

Under the Shadow of the Noon-Day Witch: or, A Treatise Concerning the Nature of the Alliances of Witches; Being Admonitions to Lords, Counts, Barons, Witch-Hunters, and All Men of Authority, Touching the Folly and Peril of Attempting to Deceive or Entrap a Coven comes from Ham & Egg Publishing, the creators of the 321RPG system. It’s the newest third-party adventure for Sickest Witch RPG. Run using the Severed System, this standalone tale brims with political intrigue, fire and brimstone, and the brutal machinery of medieval torture, all driven by Purity Rose in their crusade to cleanse the world of witches.

Under the Shadow of the Noon-Day Witch is live now on Kickstarter, and you can check it out at the link below.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/johnhambonemcguire/under-the-shadow-of-the-noon-day-witch?ref=project_build

I’ll be back in November with another update.

Until then, stay safe out there, and may the dice always roll in your favor.

-JHM

P.S. Ok, just one more thing. Speaking of ShireCon, my illustrious wife, Sally Cantirino, had a killer idea for a Fairhaven Women’s Wrestling adventure. So keep your peepers peeled for Fairhaven Ladies Of Wrestling, coming in 2026.

PDFs Have Been Sent!!!
Dudes,

CHECK YOUR EMAILS! THE PDFs HAVE BEEN SENT!!!

I cannot thank you enough for being cool with giving me a little extra time to finish the book. Your patience has been rewarded with eight extra pages of content!

Days of Future Fairhaven marks my first real foray into layout, and I pushed myself to design the best book possible and left it all on the mat for this one.

I hope you enjoy it and it brings you and your friends a lot of laughter and fun at the gaming table. It sure as hell brought me a ton a joy writing this book with Levi Combs.

He has been my mentor in the hobby and, more importantly, my friend for a long time. So getting to write this book with him is definitely a personal and professional high point for me.

So here come the thank yous.

First up, to you, dear reader. We couldn't do this without you. You have not only given us the ability to make Days of Future Fairhaven a reality, but you provided us the ability to hire a team to really make this story sparkle.

THANK YOU!!!

Ok, time out. Before I get into putting over my collaborators on this project, here's what's next

  • The testers for Days of Future Fairhaven have been ordered from Mixam.

  • The testers for A Girl Named Doom will be ordered tomorrow once we get an updated file.

  • Once we get those back and approve them, we'll put in the full order.

  • Once they arrive at my door, I will ship them right out to you. This will more than likely push the physical delivery into early October. Sorry about that, but the second I get them, I will get them out the door. So please be sure to update your addresses

Now we let the thank you train commence!

Thanks to Sally Cantirino for the stellar cover.

Thanks to Cheese Hasselberger, Dave McKenna, and Wack! Artwork for the killer character and full-page art. It really ties the book together.

Thanks to Ian McGarty, who delivered a badass studio map.

Thanks to Meghan Ball, who has been doing amazing work editing our books for five years. Hell yeah!

Thanks to Brian Shutter for coming in clutch with the new logos.

Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't mention Geo Collazo, with whom I have been collaborating for over two decades. He really is the secret sauce when it comes to story, and his story edit on this book is superb.

That's all for now, folks!

I'll be back, hopefully next week, when the tester comes in to show that off.

Stay safe out there, and may the dice always roll in your favor,

-JHM

Some Good News And A Slight Delay.
Ahoy!

It’s your ole’ buddy HB here with some updates.

First up, a but.

So, holy crap, the book is looking amazing, BUT I am about a week to two weeks behind where I expected to be in delivering the PDF.

I sincerely apologize; it’s totally on me. The timeline was a little ambitious, and I got sick. The doctor said it wasn’t Covid; it just had all the symptoms. So I basically had “Kirkland Brand” Covid.

Anyway, Days of Future Fairhaven is far enough along that if anybody wants to see it early, I can put up a Dropbox link to the WIP. Just let me know in the comments.

As it stands today, I've added more pages, which include additional art, so I've ordered it and am now waiting for it to arrive.

Then Geo, my partner at Ham & Egg Publishing, can review it one last time before I send off the final copy.

So we are so close, and I am very sorry to be slightly behind schedule.

Here are some preview pages in the meantime.

In other news, the S.H.E.R.M.I. Stickers have arrived, and they look sweet as hell. Speaking of, one of you righteous dudes requested S.H.E.R.M.I. stickers as an add-on.

I sent out an update the next day, but apparently it didn’t post.

They are now available as an add-on!

Art by Cheese Hasselberger. Hand Modeling by Hambone

I’ll be back soon with a PDF delivery update, which I am super excited to share with you all. If you haven’t done the survey yet, please do so. We’ll be ordering books once we receive the PDF.

Stay safe out there, and may the dice always roll in your favor.
