BackerKit FAQ

How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?

Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.

To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.

All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.

Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.

Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.

When will I be charged for my pledge?

Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.

What happens after the campaign is over?

The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.

The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.

Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.

Project FAQ

When funded, when might I expect my goodies?

We expect game production to require 5-6 months. Supporters with smaller Pledges and less Add-Ons can expect to receive their products soon near the end of that time frame, while more substantial packages will take a bit longer. There is a possibility that some Add-Ons and Top Secret Bonus Packages may be sent after supporter Pledges. We will post updates.

How is the game packaged?

For this Crowdfund, all Game Rulebooks, Unit Cards and Playing Aids are all packaged in a series of durable resealable bags, send out in bubble/weatherproof packaging.

This is the game system and play materials, but what if I need miniatures?

For supporters who do not have miniatures, we have a recommended supplier of 1/285 miniatures who has proven an excellent resource. We will be providing links to their products if you wish to collect miniatures; we have had a long relationship with them! There are several other suppliers of other scales as well. Into the end of 2024 and early 2025, we are working on a non-miniature solution for gamers who are on a tight budget, and may not be able to purchase a collection.

What are the plans for future game supplements?

Both ourselves and our customers have enjoyed the expandability that this game system has provided, laying an excellent foundation for a variety of game play scenarios. End of 2024 and throughout 2025, we are planning on releasing Unit Card sets for the following theaters: • Cold War, 1970s (additional countries) • World War II, Europe, Post-D-Day (multiple countries, supplemental) • World War II, Africa (multiple countries) • Cold War, 1980s (several countries) Beyond that time frame: • World War II, Asia (several countries) • The Gulf War, 1990s (multiple countries) • The Arab-Israeli Wars Series (supplemental) • Vietnam • Others into the modern battlefield and a few decades ahead!

For fans who have the first edition, what are the highlights of the Revised Edition?

We have made very specific changes to the game as a result of playing the revised materials at Cons for the last 2 years - 1 dozen Cons, 30+ games, and about 150 players, most of which were new to the game. Revisions include the following: • More accurate long-range canon fire and off-board artillery rules, far faster to play and quicker to resolve • Fewer range categories more closely matched to military training manuals, consolidated numerical mechanics, so there is less to calculate and less table look-up • Greatly improved visual display on 8 1/2 x 11" Unit Cards, easier to read, easier to use, more conveniently laid out • Standardized Infantry Tables paired with each Armored Unit Card, so any combination is possible. Any type of infantry unit can be spontaneously used: Special Forces, 2nd line troops, gun, mortar or artillery crews, supply troops, MPs, mercenary or militia, and more! • Standard air frames for close air support helicopters and aircraft, with customizable load outs • Consolidated artillery Unit cards, so multiple types of artillery may be used with 1 card • Better play markers and and components to track the battlefield more easily We hope you enjoy!
