Hi there! As a FitD fanboy, I really like this game. But I find a bit surprissing the deffense rolls, which are very similar to BitD/FitD resistance rolls, but... cannot be done in response of a failure. Rules specifically say: > You don't get a defense roll against an impact move prompted by your own action, as avoiding problems is wrapped up in the original roll. You also don't get a roll against indirect events (guards arrive) . In my experience these are the two most common usages of resistance rolls in Blades in the Dark. I found them great because they allow masters to be very grim and present really terrible consenquences and let the players spend their resources to avoid them if they want. I may understand that thorns may be playing the same role here, but I would like to know why you think players should not be allowed to roll deffense in this situations. My second question is: When can players roll deffense rolls then? The help action may also indicate that you can use help to roll deffense when helping another player, but I'm not sure about that. Anyway, the game looks great. I'm eager to try it with my table!
