Welcome to our monthly update on this, the eve of Valentine's Day, the day of love. Still chugging along working on the book, but until then, I wanted to share two little panels I love from the comic.

We hope you all had a restful holiday season! We're back for 2026 with our first bit of news... THE PENCILS ARE COMPLETE! What this means for you, in a nutshell, is we are on time, on schedule, and still chugging towards a print date of July of this year. 

I thought it might be fun for this month's update to take you through the art process a bit, from thumbnail to finished art. Who better to do that with than January's spotlighted character?

Hello backers! As promised, here is your monthly update. First off, wishing a very Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate.

We are still on target for a July 2026 release for the book. Melissa, Artist Extraordinaire, has just moved house and is settling into her newfangled office with plans to bang out the rest of the art by end of year. Then, as planned, we will sweep the dialogue, get the thing lettered, print, and start fulfillment.

We got some pins in, and they look amazing.

For January's update, we're going to do a character spotlight. Backers will be able to see who it is. Until then, Happy Holidays to you and yours, and we'll see you in the new year! 

Sorry for the radio silence. We've been hard at work behind the scenes. :D

Our original plan was to release this summer, but we're needing to push that back a little. 

Our philosophy here at Arledge Comics was to build a press by and for creators. This means that we promote a healthy work/life balance. Artists are people, sometimes they get sick - real sick - or suffer injuries. Sometimes artists take time off art in order to travel for conventions - or to travel to get married. The comic industry can be brutal with deadlines, and we're not about that life. 

By releasing the title late, we're able to keep creatives happy, healthy, and able to make great comics. It also allows us to focus on quality - instead of rushing to meet deadlines. 

That being said!

I do have more previews because progress has been made since our last update. I'm going to plop these into the backer only content - just in case folks don't want any sort of spoilers. 

Tentatively, we plan to have the artwork completed by the end of the year. Once the artwork is complete, we'll be creating and sending out the reward survey. We don't want to collect shipping until we have a projected ship date, which is why we've held off on getting the pledge manager set up. 

We appreciate everyone's patience as we put our best efforts into this book. <3
