The story follows Rebecca Sinclaire, a 27 year old woman that is studying for her Master's in Art History at the University of Chicago. Rebecca's parents die in a crash that leaves her devastated. She was the executor of their wills, and she decides to move from Chicago to Upstate New York to handle their affairs.
The Sinclaire Estate is an old vacation home that's been in her house for centuries. She thought it would be comforting, but the house feels... Different. Something is off. Not to mention, her aunt doesn't take too kindly to being left out of their will, and fully intends to fight it...
