There's more to write, but I am now on track to send the book off for editing next month.
I wish I could share a few chapters here, but of course, there's just too many spoilers in this third book if you haven't read #1 and #2.
Instead, I can share that I've cut a section out of the story. I'm describing this as a positive thing, and here's why: I made the cut because certain events had to be shown from a different POV (as in, not from Kilek's POV, since he wasn't there as a witness or participant).
Now for the positive part, lol.
Rather than have only one section from all three books use a POV other than Kilek's, I've simply cut this bit - and it'll end up a (long) short story for me to send to you all as a Backerkit exclusive :)
I'll also note that snipping out these events from the main story won't interfere with the overall conclusion to the series, hence why the section is now placed outside Dark Fang.
I've now hit 50k on Dark Fang, which is progress, but it's not as fast as I can be, so I'm trying to speed up.
And quickly, here's an updated draft map - this is the most recent one that I sketched, and it's what I've given to the artist as reference for creation of the real map in watercolour:
As you can see, rough as it is, this draft map still lays out where stuff is :D
Hello all, this is just a quick update to note that the new, revised/expanded draft for Dark Fang is now at 30,000 words and I'm charging ahead with the rest of the story.
I'll be back in June with another update and the estimated release/shipping window :)
I'm sorry to say that the release date for Dark Fang (Book 3) must be pushed back. Release will still be in 2026, but it won't be this May, as I'd originally estimated.
I thought I could juggle everything going on for me this year (my PhD studies and health stuff among other things) and still meet what I originally thought was a generous deadline that I'd set for myself... but the book is turning out to be longer than I planned. I thought the final instalment would be short and snappy, an exciting rush to the big climax I have planned for the series.
Instead, I think there could well be more to tell, and so I'm charging on.
When Dark Fang gets to editing stage, maybe my editor and I will make cuts and changes, but I can't tell for now. I want to give you more story, to be honest, and I like these characters, I want them to have fuller resolutions and so I'm expanding the book.

On that next update I should have a better idea of a new release window. I say 'window' as I don't want to get it wrong again, by putting a super-specific date out there that I may miss.
