Longbox is a free comic reader built specifically for Fire TV. Connect a USB drive, open your collection, and read your comics from the couch—single pages, double-page spreads, series browsing, comic information, and more.

A lot of digital comic collections don't live on a USB drive. They're stored on a computer, a NAS or home network, or in the cloud.

We're working toward a simple idea:

The crowdfunding campaign will help us build and test connections to supported computer libraries, network storage, and cloud storage while keeping the existing USB experience intact.
 

Longbox Connect will begin with a small group of people who helped make its first release possible. 

When the campaign launches, we'll offer 10 Founding Collector positions for supporters who want to make an extraordinary contribution to the development of Longbox Connect v1. 

Founding Collectors will receive Longbox Connect v1, Early Access, opportunities to participate in testing and feedback, and a permanent place in the history of the project. 

Rather than putting the Founding Collectors into a conventional credits list, we're going to commission a comic creator to turn their recognition into an original piece of comic art. 

The finished artwork will incorporate the Founding Collectors into one or more comic panels using information they choose to provide. That might be a name, business or studio, call sign, social handle, website, short quote or message—or simply an anonymous credit. 

When Longbox Connect v1 is activated for the first time on a fresh installation, the Founding Edition artwork will appear immediately after the Longbox splash screen as a thank-you to the people who helped bring Connect into existence. 

It won't disappear after that first viewing. The artwork will remain available from within Longbox so readers can return to it later. 

The image below is concept art, not the final Founding Edition artwork. The final piece will be commissioned from a comic creator after the campaign and created around the actual Founding Collectors and the information they choose to share.

The Founding Collector designation will only be offered during the original Longbox Connect crowdfunding campaign. If fewer than 10 positions are claimed, the remaining positions will not be offered later.
