I hope you are enjoying reading Sherlock Holmes: Holiday Whodunnits. The reviews, so far, have been excellent, and there is nothing more helpful to a book's success than positive reviews.
While everyone has their digital copy of Holiday Whodunnits, I'm sad that some of you, particularly those with hardcover editions, haven't received your print editions yet. It seems that both of the printing and distribution companies I use are experiencing significant delays. While some of you do have your paperback copies, it looks like a few print copies of the books won't arrive for another few weeks, possibly not until January.
I've never had printing and shipping delays from the companies I work with. I even checked to see if I could expedite things, but that isn't an option because of the holiday traffic.
I am happy that, at least, you can read the digital version. Please be patient if you haven't received your print edition. It is coming and I hope it will arrive soon. I apologize for the delays.
Backer kit finally figured out what was wrong with some of the backers not getting their reward surveys. The problem has been corrected, and now those of you who hadn't received a survey should have it now. Please complete the survey as soon as possible. You will get the eBook edition once you complete the survey. The print editions will be shipped out this week as well.
I apologize for all the confusion, and I'm glad that Backerkit was able to resolve the problem after doing some digging.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
We also wanted to let you know about our two current Sherlock Holmes crowdfunding campaigns. One is on Kickstarter and the other is on Backerkit. Please consider supporting them.
This all new edition of the journal is divided into two sections. The first part includes poetry, fiction, and scholarship focused on the writings and life of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The second part of the journal features all new Sherlock Holmes centered stories, poems, and essays. The Sherlock Holmes stories are traditional and written in the Watsonian voice.
Selections from the Doyle section include an essay arguing that The Lost World is as important to science fiction as Sherlock Holmes is to mysteries; a poem inspired by Doyle's "Lot No. 249"; a sequel to Doyle's story "The Usher of Lea House School"; and an article exploring Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's contributions to... cosplay!
Selections from the Sherlock Holmes section include an all new adventure teaming the great detective and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle; a mystery involving a body which seems to have disappeared into thin air; a story involving a partnership between Mary Morstan and Irene Adler; an article on all the references to magic in the Sherlock Holmes Canon as well as in the Granada series; poems about the great detective; a sea shanty on The Gloria Scott; and an essay on the real locations from The Valley of Fear.
This year's Steel True, Blade Straight journal comes with a SPECIAL BONUS REWARD! The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle is a delightful adaptation of the Conan Doyle classic by none other than Bill Dorn, BSI. Expertly illustrated by Andrew Putz, this all-ages edition contains both the updated text as well as the original adventure.

Lastly, don't forget to check out these Sherlock Holmes Kickstarter projects from our friends at MX Publishing:
I'm happy to report that all orders have been filled for Sherlock Holmes: Holiday Whodunnits! You should have received your digital rewards and some of you may have already received your print editions of your books. Based on the shipping estimations, all print editions should arrive by December 1st, the first day of the advent.
There were a few countries such as Finland and Australia where the print copy of your book might arrive late (i.e December 2nd or 3rd). If that happens, remember, you can always read the first few stories on the eBook while waiting for your copy to arrive.
Since this campaign was such a HUGE success, we are participating in the Backerkit Christmas Marketplace. The marketplace campaign runs from November 18th until December 1st. You can get any of our FOUR Sherlock Holmes Christmas books (two weren't available in the Holiday Whodunnits campaign). You also get a FREE eBook just for following the campaign before it launches.
Thank you for supporting Sherlock Holmes: Holiday Whodunnits on Backerkit. I'm happy to let you know that the book has been uploaded to the printer and I anxiously await my proof copy which should arrive in the next day or two. I'll read through the book to catch any mistakes, and that's the last step. If all goes well, I'll send out the eBook within a week, and the print editions will ship soon after that.
Mycroft: Out of the Shadows
There seems to be an error with Backerkit and the audio performance of Mycroft: Out of the Shadows. Some backers have reported receiving the recording twice. I'm not sure what went wrong with that, but there is only one recording of Mycroft: Out of the Shadows. There's no need for a second link to the same recording.
I'll start sending out more of the eBooks this week. My fingers are crossed that there aren't any more errors.
