Once again, thank you for supporting Sherlock Holmes: Mistletoe Mysteries on Backerkit. I'm happy to report that the reward surveys have been sent out. I've set the surveys to close on October 30th. At that point, everyone should have received their digital downloads of the eBook. After the surveys close, the books will be shipped to you. As planned, as long as there aren't any delivery issues, everyone should have their rewards no later than the end of November.
I'll have another update early next week. Please fill out your reward surveys as soon as possible. I want to make sure you receive your rewards well ahead of December 1st.
Thank you for supporting Sherlock Holmes: Mistletoe Mysteries on Kickstarter. Because we met the stretch goal, the book includes a special spotlight on each great detective added to each story.
I'm currently making my final edit of the manuscript and, as promised, the book will be ready for you to read on December 1st. I'm on track to get you the book (at least in digital form) by the end of October. All or almost all of you should have the print edition before December 1st. I'm also making my final edit of Sherlock Holmes and the Great Detectives: Some Pretty Little Problems.
You will receive your reward survey by Saturday, October 10th. Please complete the survey s soon as possible. Once i have the surveys, I can send you your rewards.
Lastly, I wanted to share my current Sherlock Holmes crowdfunding project which is on Kickstarter.
1891 is the year where everything changes. 1891 is the year when Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty resolve their Final Problem. And 1891 is the year that Dr. Watson, Mrs. Hudson, Mycroft Holmes, Inspector Lestrade and so many, many others will never forget!
Away in London in 1892, people still sometimes glance up hopefully at the first floor window above 221B Baker Street. Did the curtains rustle slightly? No, it's only the wind, only a breeze. Haven't you heard? The Great Detective SHERLOCK HOLMES died last year, over in Switzerland. These are the adventures of his friends, his colleagues and his enemies who must carry on without their hero... but not without hope.

Second Stretch Goal and an Interview with our Project Partner
Hi everyone,
We have just nine days left in the campaign. We wanted to add another stretch goal to give our campaign a final boost before we end on October 1st.
Stretch Goal #2: If the campaign reaches $5,000 in pledges, a BONUS story will be added to Sherlock Holmes: Mistletoe Mysteries.
The more stories in a book, the better! Please pledge today to help us reach this stretch goal in the next few days.
I also wanted to share a brief interview with our campaign partner, Moe Lane, on his third Tom Vargas mystery, Banshee Beach!
Hi! I’m Moe Lane, cross-promotional partner to Belanger Books for Printopia 2026. I’m a fantasy and horror writer, with a heavy sideline in tabletop roleplaying games, and this is either my second or seventh Backerkit project, depending on how you score Kickstarter.
My current project is Banshee Beach, which is the third book in my Tom Vargas Mysteries post-apocalyptic fantasy pulp detective series. Tom Vargas is a Shamus in Cin City, glittering tinsel crown of the magical Kingdom of New California. He’s a wisecracking investigator of the (literally) old school, trading quips and the occasional right hook with the people he encounters in the Cases he’s trying to Clear. Tom’s not exactly a detective, but what he does on a regular basis wouldn’t surprise Sam Spade. Or Garrett, from Glen Cook’s The Garrett Files. Or Phil Lovecraft, from Cast a Deadly Spell. There’s more than a little Carl Kochak from The Night Stalker in him, too. Possibly even a little Travis McGee.
Honestly, my Tom Vargas stories are an opportunity to write quick patter, and crack wise about movies. The setting is deliberately set up to let me make as many in-jokes and references about popular culture as I can possibly manage, in fact, and that pleases me greatly. It’s also part of the wider world of the Fermi Resolution, which is a sprawling post-apocalyptic fantasy future history of a North America gone mad with magic. All of the books are available as add-ons for the campaign; there’s also a roleplaying game, which is available via DriveThruRPG.
Closing up: personally, I’m really looking forward to Sherlock Holmes: Mistletoe Mysteries. I grew up reading Sherlock Holmes; not just the original stories, but the pastiches and crossovers. Holmes has always been a favorite cross-genre hero, from alternate history to horror, so I would have been backing this project even if I didn’t have my own book in Printopia.
Thank you all for supporting Printopia!
I encourage all of our backers to support both of our projects.
That covers this project update. Look for another one soon!
Incredible Start! Goal Met in Just 3 Hours! Closing in on Stretch Goal!
Thank you for your support of Sherlock Holmes: Mistletoe Mysteries on Backerkit! I'm still in shock that we met our initial goal in just three hours and that we are already getting close to reaching our first stretch goal! If you haven't backed the project yet, there's still time to get the early backer bonus reward. If you back the project in the first 48 hours, you get a copy of the BONUS Sherlock Holmes book, Sherlock Holmes and the Great Detectives: Some Pretty Little Problems.
I'll have more project updates highlighting different rewards throughout the campaign.
I also wanted to let you know about some current Kickstarter projects from Belanger Books and our friends at MX Publishing:
This special two-volume edition expands each one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic cases from The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes, taking the characters and situations into wholly original directions! In many cases, years have passed since the events of the canon. Holmes and Watson find that people change. New facts are uncovered. Some characters aren't as dead as one might have assumed! Intriguingly, some stories have multiple sequels! How did your favorite adventure end? Depends on who you ask. Holmes, to his credit, rises to the challenge every time!
STRETCH GOAL !!! - If the campaign reaches $2000, we will include the original Arthur Conan Doyle stories from THE MEMOIRS OF SHERLOCK HOLMES, plus an all new adventure from Sarah Bennett! You will get a chance to read the ORIGINAL adventure followed by the excellent sequel(s)!
We are just 100 dollars away from reaching the stretch goal! Help get those bonus stories by CLICKING HERE!
Here are the other Sherlock Holmes Kickstarter campaigns currently running. they are from our friends at MX Publishing!
Inspector Bradstreet pays a call at Baker Street one evening to discuss what he describes as a “singular” case with Holmes. It seems the only thing young Jacob Walsh, who has been caught in the act and arrested for robbery, will tell the police is his name. Both Holmes and Watson recall a similar case from several months earlier and set out to ascertain whether the two separate, but nearly identical, incidents constitute a pattern.
The Last and Highest Court Of Appeal - The Dramatizations of the George Edalji Case and the Detective Work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. A True Crime story for the ages.
Aurora Jones Private Detective - Aurora Jones achieved a modicum of fame by collaborating with Sherlock Holmes in the case in the novel Black and Deep Desires.

I got pledged for the paperback of Mistletoe Mysteries. Does the e-book come with that? It doesn't say it does, but the ebook is not listed as a possible add on either. I would like both the paperback and the ebook. Did I miss another pledge level?
