Hello everyone, I wanted to apologise in advance for the long silence from me. I wanted to ensure my previous Backerkit campaign was completed first so i could focus entirely on this one! I should have posted an update here months ago, and i apologize for the lack of communication, but I want to make sure that everyone's worries are settled, and you can all see some progress photos!!
The three plushies have been completed!!!
Chow Raccoon and Flynn Fox are pictured here, and Bonnie Bilby has also been finished!! <3
All thats left now is to pay the final balance, and get the Certification and boxes made!! I'm so happy with how they all turned out!
Regarding the Kickstarter. I did plan on running a Kickstarter to try and unlock the other 3 plushie designs, but I was so busy there was just never really a time i could set it up and run it. I always had the intention of doing it, but it just never felt like a good time. If this is something people would still be happy for me to do, then i could set it up around November time once the main convention season is over -- But I understand that a lot of time has passed and many of you wont want to wait longer.
Initially, I planned to run a Kickstarter to try to unlock the other 3 plushie designs. Because I wanted to give everyone the option to choose from all 6 designs, I held off on sending out the BackerKit surveys.
However, running multiple campaigns back-to-back has been incredibly stressful, and I want to respect your time. I would love to get your opinions:
Option A: Focus entirely on shipping the current 3 plushies. I will send out the surveys immediately so you can select your plushies, and we can get them shipped out to you as soon as they arrive from the manufacturer.
Option B: Run a short campaign in November to unlock the other 3. This would happen after the main convention season ends, but it will mean waiting a bit longer for surveys and shipping.
An Honest Update. I appreciate everyones patience, and I used to pride myself on my quick responses and processing times, and my endless commitment to making sure people got their pledges as soon as!! -- Sadly, my life has changed a lot and keeping up with all of this has been a huge mental struggle for me. I'm no way am I trying to make excuses for myself, I only want to take accountability and try to explain a little why I haven't been as open and communicative as i used to be. I used to run a campaign and within a week of my products arriving, I'd have them all packed up and posted out! I'm a Mum now to a 2 year old toddler, and my life is very different to how it used to be. While being a parent is no excuse, it is the honest reason why I'm struggling a lot more now than I used to. I know theres probably lots of new people here on Backerkit who havent followed me for years and don't have that past trust with me, and this is your first experience with me, and all I can do is apologize for the lack of communication from myself.
I plan on finishing up the very last bundle of the Scruff Puppy Backerkit pledges in the next few weeks, and I am making the final edits to the packaging for Bilby Burrows too, so that i can get these plushies sent out to me!! I can then start tackling the surverys and get them all sent out to you -- Unless people want me to run a 2nd campaign to unlock the other 3 plushies. This is the reason why the surveys havent gone out yet, as i wanted to make sure people could pick from all 6 plushies if we managed to fund them all.
I cannot apologize enough, but I want to make a promise to everyone that communication will be consistent from now on, and that soon I will have all the plushies in and can start posting them out to you all!!
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone here who pledged for a plushie and who took the time to engage and share the project, your support truly means the absolute world to me! So, near the end of the Backerkit I adjusted the unlock goals a little so that we could try and unlock more plushies, this however was a dumb decision since we had some failed charges and I now don't have the funds needed to order all 4 plushies 🥺
Regardless of this, we didn't unlock Redd Panda or our Mystery plush in this campaign. So, I thought perhaps it would be a good idea to take my campaign over to Kickstarter to see if we can unlock the full collection!! I just want to know how you all think about that and if you'd like that to go ahead.
This would mean: It would delay production slightly. I am putting the first 3 designs into production now with the money we raised here, but it will then delay shipment a bit since the next 3 designs will be produced after, delaying the full shipment until they are all made.
But it would mean that!: All 6 designs would be unlocked, and everyone here would be able to receive any of the plushies now instead of only the first three. The people who pledged for the full set will get it! And it means that people who wanted to Pick their plushie will be able to do so <3
You would NOT have to pledge again over on Kickstarter to receive the other plushies that didn't get unlocked here. Once it unlocks, it will be available for EVERYBODY across both platforms to receive!
We're finally at the end, and what a journey its been. We have unlocked Flora Deer and we're SOO SOO CLOSE to unlocking Redd Panda!
In terms of funding, I am considering running a Kickstarter in a few months to help unlock trhe designs that havent unlocked this time round!! It would give people a second change to get discounted pricing, and help fund maybe some items and clothes to go with the plushies!! Or maybe, i could unlock the ITA bags designs too!

Todays update comes with another Artist spotlight, and today I'm sharing Henrieke's campaign! Its a collection featuring Hyena's and other stretch goals of other canines. This artist was a HUGE inspiration to me as a younger artist, way back when I was 14-15 and still finding my style, I followed them closely and loved watching their speedpaints on youTube. I'm an editing girlie now. Look!! I made a promo video myself on Canva! I have had Canva Pro for months now and I had no idea it had video capabilities until I saw an ad on youTube LOL So, I made this video to share on Instagram and here to show off all the plushie designs!! I will be running an ad on Meta for the last week of the campaign in hopes that w can boost pledges and unlock all 6 plushies!!
