As part of 🪅 GameFiesta celebration, each participating campaign will give away one GameFiesta game to one of its own (lucky) backers every day while the campaign is live.
This thread details the rules (below) and for your convenience, you can check the winners every day in this link to the forum where draws take place with BoardGameGeek's Geek Randomizer for full transparency:
There are currently 14 participating campaigns, meaning that each day there will be 14 independent giveaway draws.
The thread in BoardGameGeek linked above the banner serves as the official public record of the daily randomizations.
The goal is to make the selection process transparent and independently verifiable while keeping individual backer full information private.
How the daily draws work:
1. Daily cutoff — 23:59 UTC
At 23:59 UTC each day, the publicly displayed backer count for each participating campaign is recorded, which establishes the number of participants for that day's draw.
The cutoff is fixed at 23:59 UTC. Pledges or changes occurring after the cutoff are considered for the following day's giveaway.
2. Private participant record
After the cutoff, we export the BackerKit CSV for each campaign.
These CSV files are kept private and are used only to identify the participant corresponding to the winning random number.
The resulting number identifies the participant's position in the corresponding private cutoff CSV.
4. Prize In order to comply with BoardGameGeek terms of use, we need to keep posts without promotional info, which is why there is little mention of the Giveaway itself or crowdfunding details in there.
Every reply in the thread includes mention of a Featured Game, which is the given prize for that day.
GameFiesta organizers handle prize assignation in the pledge manager stage and fulfillment according to the applicable campaign plan.
In order to keep the prize, backer should not cancel their pledge in that campaign.
It is possible to win multiple prizes by backing multiple campaigns or in the same campaign on different days (likely with a different prize). Check out the campaigns with the least backers since those have the best odds!
In the event a project is not funded, winning draws from that campaign will be forfeit. Winning draws from other campaigns but featuring a non-funded prize will change to a different game at the pledge manager stage.
You will see your prizes after the campaigns end, at the pledge manager stage. Prizes do not count towards the shipping discounts (you must actually pledge to different campaigns to get the shipping discounts).
5. Public record
Each day's 14 results will be posted in the BoardGameGeek thread at some time after the cut-off date. The exact posting time may vary slightly because the process is performed manually.
Every roll is final. The actual random rolls are generated using BoardGameGeek's Geek Randomizer (full details here).
BGG's Geek Randomizer records information about each roll, including the roller, roll expression, result, comment, and date. Rolls cannot be deleted or detached from the post in which they were created.
The public record will contain information necessary to verify each draw, such as:
- Campaign name
- Number of participants at cutoff
- Randomizer expression
- Random result
Winner identification and prize fulfillment are handled privately through the GameFiesta campaign records and will likely be shared in campaign updates of their own campaign, mentioning username but masking email to show only a few characters with no domain.
🍀 Good luck! Thank you for supporting GameFiesta and the participating tabletop game campaigns.
