How this came to pass:
For most of my life, I have been fascinated by lunisolar calendars. I have found most commercially available options to be underwhelming or to lack features. One notable exception are the posters available from Kamehameha Publishing, developed by Hui Mauli Ola. They publish a lovely Hawaiian lunisolar calendar yearly, from which I have certainly drawn inspiration.
Recently I began development of a 3' x 4' prototype canvas which is part painting, part calendar, and infinitely usable. It's been painted to hold magnets for the Gregorian days and moon cycles. The main circle which the days rest on is painted to represent the shifting daylight hours throughout the year. Sun and Moon times for the prototype are based on Great Falls, MT, but should be fairly close for other locations with similar latitudes.

The Plan:
For a few backers, I will be making smaller 18" x 24" canvas versions with movable moons and special date markers. These will be customized to the backers' chosen locations.
After positioning the days for each of 19 years, I will take photos of the large prototype calendar to print wire-o bound 9" x 12" Metonic Cycle perpetual wall calendars for project backers.
I am also printing some stickers based on the formline surrounding the calendar.
Large posters of the calendar will be printed for the year following the project launch, currently estimated to be Spring 2028- Spring 2029, but if this goes faster then I'm thinking it could be bumped up to 27-28.
I am considering also printing a run of notebooks with the art on the cover. I would prefer to print fully customized journals, but am unsure if I would like to undertake that at this time. This is likely to be a stretch goal, depending on interest.
