Back in 2013, we launched our first-ever crowdfunded project—a sci-fi map of the United States—and we’ve been hooked ever since. The following year, we funded a series of large-format screen prints celebrating robotic space missions, which opened the door to long-term collaborations with organizations like The Planetary Society and the SETI Institute. More than a decade later, we’re still at it—creating art that celebrates science and exploration.

We’ve now run four campaigns on BackerKit in just a year—and it’s clear the audience here is deeply enthusiastic about enamel pins (and now patches too, which we recently introduced). The response has been both generous and engaged, and we’re excited to keep building on that momentum with this Holiday Shop!

This Holiday Shop brings it all together—pins, patches, prints, and tees from across our past projects, bundled and discounted for one last celebration before the year wraps. It’s a curated collection from everything we’ve made (and you’ve backed), all in one place for a limited time.

The Enameled pins are hard enamel for all the space mission pins. The Dino pins are soft-enamel. While the shapes vary slightly depending on the artwork, all space pins are designed to feel uniform as a set, each measuring around 2” in size, while the dino pins average 1.5". 

Each pin features a double rubber clasp back (shown below).

The patches are all detail embroidered. While each patch measurement may vary slightly due to shape, they’re designed to appear uniform as a uniform set. Averaging around 3.5" in size as an overall set. We are also offering the option of velcro backed (shown here with mount detached) or traditional iron-on. The one drawback on the velcro is you cannot iron on the velcro mount. It must be sewn because of the nature of velcro… you cannot heat it. The iron-on version is shown below.

All of our tees are 100% cotton and pre-shrunk. We use a mix of traditional screen printing and high-quality heat transfers. In our experience, both age similarly—breaking in over time with a soft, vintage feel. In fact, some folks buy them looking like that straight out of the gate. ;)

Most of the stickers average between 3.5" and 4" in size. They are vinyl and good for indoor/outdoor use. Indoor they last indefinitely, outdoors (on say, a car) they last about 4 years.

There are two holographic style spacecraft stickers for Voyager and Cassini. The holo effect makes them look metal, but on direct light reflection will create colorful effects.

The giclée prints are archival quality Epson with ConeColor Inks on RedRiver Satin papers. The screen prints were hand produced one color at a time by Vahalla Studio well-known for their concert posters for Phish, Wilco, and many others. 

This is a holiday store, so unlike other projects — these projects have all been funded and are in stock. So your items will ship out well before any holiday gift-giving deadlines. Patches could be delayed a bit (as they are in production now) but should also be fine by Dec 8.
