Here is a Google drive link containing the pre-art version of the Gunslinger's Guide. All of the text is final. Final version with art included will be coming soon, but for now I wanted to give everyone something substantial.
Hail Gunslingers. I wanted to touch base with you all and give you an update on where the Black Tower Hack currently stands.
Gunslinger's Guide: the final edits are complete, and necessary rewrites are squared away. The artwork is still in progress. I am going to release a 'no art' pre-release version to all backers in the meantime. This will be text complete, but will not be a substitute for the finished product. I would like to at least give you all a version of the game you can take to your tables. You will have this no later than 10/11.
Atlas of the Languishing Lands: Final edits are now complete, and the necessary rewrites are being worked on now. Artwork is still in progress. I will release a no art version of this one by 10/24.
While I can't give an exact date for printing and delivery, it is my goal to ensure everyone has their physical rewards by the end of 2026.
I will fully admit that I underestimated the scope of this project and the timeline has run longer than initially projected. That's on me, and I do apologize for the late delivery on this. Part of the reason for the extended timeline is that it ended up overlapping with another project. I have learned some important lessons from this experience and will strive to avoid a situation like this in the future. Thank you for your patience, and we will talk again soon.
Hey everyone, it's about time for the trademarked overdue crowdfunder update that we all know and love. The Black Tower Hack is unfortunately going into overtime on fulfillment. I do sincerely apologize for this, as I underestimated the the art load and did not anticipate rewriting the GM zine. Ultimately I believe it will be a better game for it, but I do regret not setting a further out fulfillment date.
What we have for updates:
The Gunslinger's Guide has gone through editing.
The Atlas of the Languishing Lands is currently being updated
Artwork is currently in progress. I will admit I underestimated the amount of artwork I needed to do for these zines. This is the main holdup at the moment.
Stickers have been made and are good to go.
Backer surveys are going to be going out shortly, and the preorder store will also be opened for add ons.
Hail Gunslingers, just a quick update to let you know how things are progressing.
Gunslinger's Guide: I've got the edits back, and it one step closer to completion. Atlas of the Languishing Lands: The rewrite is going at a steady pace, and I'm going to call it about 80% complete. From there it will head out for editing. For those of you who backed at the Resident of Gasoline level, I'll be reaching out soon for your contributions to the starter adventure. Artwork: I'll be starting on the artwork when I have the layout finalized. Stickers: I've got a couple designs to show on that front. Let me know which one is your favorite.

As always, thank you for your support and patience as I work to send you the best pair of zines that I can.
I just wanted to check in and let you all know what's been going on with the Black Tower Hack. First off I decided to completely rewrite the Atlas of the Languishing Lands. It's still building off of the bones of what was in the preview doc, but it is expanding out to be the best GM companion that it can be. The even better news is that the project is still on target to deliver in printed form by June. The bestiary has been expanded out to 45 entries, with all monsters from the Black Sword Hack SRD being replaced with original enemies born of the Languishing Lands. Here's a preview of some soul hungry demons for you while you wait. I'm going to try and make a habit of dropping material here from every couple of weeks.
Thank you, Gunslingers! The support for the Black Tower Hack has been incredible, and so much more than I had even hoped for. I can't wait to get these books out to all of you. The Gunslinger's Guide is already in the hands of my editor, Mari. And the Atlas of the Languishing Lands will be heading her way soon. As for myself, I will be heading to the art mines to pry loose gritty illustrations from the cold dead earth.
I will be sending updates periodically when there are things to report, but until then assume no news is good news. Long days and pleasant nights to you all.
