After The Campaign & What's Coming Next!
Hello all, I hope this message finds you well!
So we funded!!! The campaign is done & a print run of Am I Human Part 2 is coming your way!!! …as soon as it’s done lol
Before I go into updates I want to thank everyone for supporting this project, it’s nothing small to me to have the support of others while working hard on this project! So again, thank you all for your support!!!
So what’s new? Here’s a list of what I’m fixing to go over in this update/blog
- Currently I am in the middle of drawing chapter 9 of Am I Human
- I’m having to change my studio name, there’s already a Gridlock Studios
- I have a website & it’s live!

AM I HUMAN? Part 2 Progress
- As of the writing of this blog, I am on page 10 of chapter 9. Some side projects have begun to take higher priority than the comic itself (way sooner deadline) so art is on hold for a couple of days while I grind away at it. So far my drawing pace has remained fairly consistent as long as I do not have any other projects going on, I really only like doing one project at a time because it’s easy for me to get overwhelmed that way.
FROM OLD AND BUSTED TO NEW HOTNESS
- Gridlock is a name I’ve had for nearly a decade, if not over a decade. So when I went solo it only made sense to continue under that moniker. However, as I slowly transition from “comics only” to doing animation as well, there was quite a pressing problem tapping away at the back of my mind. THERE IS ALREADY AN ANIMATION STUDIO NAMED GRIDLOCK STUDIOS!!! Since I’m not an official business studio yet & am only doing this as a solo endeavor, I’m the one that needs to shift. So I chose to go with Studio Gridlock, quite the difference huh? Lol It works well & that’s what I’m sticking with. I hate name changes because it makes it hard for people to follow who you are, so this is the last one. And no, it wasn’t previously taken!
THERE IS A SICK WEBSITE NOW!!!
- So I’ve been wanting to have my own website since the beginning. These social networks are great tools, but it’s a bad idea to solely rely on any of them. You need your own corner of the internet! So this is mine. Originally I had a Shopify, it wasn’t quite what I wanted it to be because you still had to order my comics digitally & you couldn’t just read them on the site like I was really trying to do. So my good friend Tytus (@oktytus on Twitch and all other platforms, follow him he’s the goat) made a website for me & it is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for. My website will be where I announce everything first, post my blogs (like you’re reading right now) and post my comics to read digitally for free as well as purchase physical copies! How to Support ya boi
- If you enjoy what I do and want to help me continue making cool stuff, the best way is of course to purchase books from the store! I’ll be having the storefront in my website up and running soon.
- I also have a Ko-fi, if you want to support me that way just search for Studio Gridlock!
- I’m working on setting up a patreon where I want to make a monthly MTG art proxy and send them out to my patrons, so far I have quite a few cards and I think it would be a fun thing to get going!
- And of course the best way to support me for free is to like my videos, subscribe to my channels, and interact with it so the algorithm will help me get to more and more people. Every little bit helps!
WHAT IS NEXT?
- I’ve been heavily studying animation. Just going to throw it out there & not beat around the bush. I like making comics, but I want to try my hand at animation & cartoons! So my plan is to animate a few shorts so I can see how I like it, learn the process, and get my feet wet BEFORE I go off the deep end and start making a show of Am I Human. I’m still going to be working on the comic series, that will be priority number one until it’s finished.
Don’t forget to tune into my streams, I stream art every Monday & Tuesday night around 7:30pm CST, and if my schedule allows it I’ll stream on a Thursday or a Friday.

WE FUNDED!!!!
Hello all, I hope this update finds you well!
I literally JUST received the message that part two of Am I Human has funded!!! EVERYONE PANIC!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, thank you all from the bottom of my heart. This project is very near to my heart & the further I make it into each part the more excited I get for you all to experience it along with me!
Currently I am done with the art up until chapter 9, which is about halfway through. Only two more chapters left to draw then we’re sending this bad boy to the printers!!
Again, thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support. It means a lot that you took a chance on an indie creator & I promise you won’t be disappointed.

It's Launch Day!!!
Later on today this lil project will launch & I am so excited to get this story to all of you. It has been so fun to make and it has brought me to places I never would've guessed & has caused me to meet some awesome people.
I thought I was supposed to carry the story, turns out it's carrying me.
Regardless, as we wait for this campaign to go underway just wanted to update you all on some things I'm working on!
As of right now I am working on the art for Chapter 9 of Am I Human. If you would like to hang out with me while I work on it I'll be streaming it on Youtube and Twitch! So come on over, I'd love to see you!
I have two one shot comics for your reading pleasure, you can get physical versions of them as add-on's in the campaign!
Currently I am experimenting with and am planning on pursuing making animated cartoons. There is a "joke" tier for making a cartoon of Am I Human, but if by some off chance it gets met you bet your sweet bippy I'll be animating the whole thing and get some animators to help me with it. Let's aim for the moon, amiright?
