Things are getting a little unhinged over at The Bastard Prince campaign.

With just 14 days left, we've already unlocked FOUR stretch goals—which means every physical edition of The Bastard Prince keeps getting better.

I wanted to share a quick update about The Bastard Prince campaign and some of the artwork and designs you've seen on the campaign page.

BackerKit recently flagged several of my graphics and mock-ups as potentially containing AI-generated elements or having AI tools used somewhere in the creation process. I take concerns surrounding AI-generated artwork very seriously, so BackerKit has asked me to temporarily remove the flagged designs while I work with my artists and designers to verify the creation process and provide the necessary documentation.

Until I can confidently verify that a design meets BackerKit's requirements, I've removed it from the campaign.

So, what does that mean for your rewards?

The campaign and the rewards I've promised are still moving forward, but I do want to be transparent that some of the designs you've previously seen may not be the designs you ultimately receive.

I'm currently working with my artists and designers to verify each piece. Any artwork that I can confidently verify and that meets BackerKit's requirements can move forward. If I'm unable to verify a design—or determine that it doesn't meet those requirements—I will replace it with newly commissioned artwork that has been thoroughly vetted.

That means your mug may feature a different design than the original mock-up, your reversible jacket artwork may change, or some of the other artwork and merchandise you've seen may look different in the final collection. The items themselves aren't going away; the artwork featured on them may change.

I expect to reveal many, if not all, of the final designs before the campaign ends so you'll have a chance to see what you're receiving. However, depending on artist timelines and the review process, there may still be a few surprises.

I completely understand that the artwork may have played a role in your decision to back the campaign. If these changes mean you would prefer to cancel your pledge, I understand. I want everyone supporting this project to feel comfortable with their decision and genuinely excited about what they're receiving.

For those who choose to stick with me, I'm putting the same care into any new or replacement artwork that I've put into this campaign from the beginning. Whatever the final collection looks like, I'm committed to making sure it's beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and worthy of The Bastard Prince.

If you've followed me over at @BaddiesBookBox, you know that creating gorgeous special editions is what I do, and I'm confident the final designs will be something I'm incredibly proud to send to you.

Most importantly, I want you to feel confident in what you're supporting. I care deeply about the artists I work with, the integrity of the products I create, and delivering the beautiful collector's edition and rewards I promised you.
