Hello to all my beautiful backers! I hope your days have been treating you well! I wanted to send you a little update to let you know that Val, Martina, and I are back at work on Luca and, with any luck, we'll be finished very soon! Do you want more first looks at new art as it comes out, or do you want to wait til you have the book to see it?
And in other news, my great friend Fred Schwartz's book, FISTICUFFS, is back for another insane issue! Fred has been incredibly supportive and helpful to me and my business, so I would love if you all would go have a look at his work. It's not quite the same vein as Noctiluca but if you want to read a wild tale about a functional drunk whose comfortable (if not lackluster) life derails when a one-night stand has deadly consequences, then this comic is for you!

SOOOO....given Kickstarter's recent crackdown on NSFW content and the peculiar nature in which individual campaigns from people I knew personally had been affected, I was very VERY concerned that my campaign and/or funds would be affected, too, but thankfully the funds have finally been released and I can let out the lungful of air I've been holding! As of yesterday, Kickstarter reversed their recent rule changes on mature content, too, so hopefully I can run future campaigns without worry. We shall see, shan't we?!
Speaking of the KS campaign, it went SO FREAKING WELL, Y'ALL! We made two stretch goals, one of which is more content for everyone! I want to emphasize that this Kickstarter campaign would never have happened without your support, so I'm absolutely going to be sharing as much of the extra swag with you as I can. I'm so grateful to you all. A huge thank you to everyone who followed Luca over there to pledge for that KissKiss cover or more, too!

I want to extend another huge thanks to you for being patient with me while I try to manage two campaigns for a single book, too. It's more complicated than I anticipated! After this post, I'll be updating both campaigns at the same time to minimize confusion (mostly mine). In addition to that, all updates that went to the Kickstarter campaign only are visible to the public, so head over there if you want to read anything I posted on that campaign!

I have more Noctiluca stuff you haven't seen! Check out the backer content below to see a couple of finished pages! My amazing artist, Val, has been bogged down by classwork, but she's freed back up now! She will be at DoKomi in Germany at the end of the month, so if you're going, tell her I said hi and that you can't wait to read Noctiluca! Once she's done there, she will be back at it again in June and should be finished before the end of summer. I'll keep you posted on that, as I don't have a perfect timeline yet. In the meantime, here's a chibi I made of Luca after the great Fred Schwartz insisted. She's now a part of the Kickstarter sticker pack :)
And before you go, consider following Fred's campaign prelaunch for FISTICUFFS, if you haven't already! He's launching on June 2 and has been amazingly supportive to Noctiluca and Definite Article projects and his comic is absolutely unhinged! There's literally a blooming onion monster in this comic. I'm serious.
Yooooo sorry for the sporadic updates! I want to make excuses for it but really I just have no concept of the passage of time. Or something like that.
