Project Update: AI Characters in Absolute Power
Season One Sneak Peek: AI Galatea
The genius tech inventor Artificer designed Galatea to be a fully realised self-aware program from the beginning. He then wrote her personality matrix in a customised programming language with the intent that she would be capable of developing herself. Galatea thus became a self-editing program with advanced learning heuristics. Her program required routine manual editing to remove glitches through version 2.3, at which point she learned to recognise major errors for herself. Organic maintenance ceased to be a requirement with version 4.0, and Galatea developed the capacity for creative compilation at 5.1 and full artistic capacity when the program reached version 6.0. Her fully sentient iteration (officially recorded as version 7.0) was considered achieved when she began asking questions such as “why am I doing this” and expressing pleasure when performing certain activities.
Project Update: Absolute Power Superhero Academies: Yamatai and Harrison
Yamatai Academy
Founded in 1986, Japan’s Yamatai Academy was the solution to a then-growing dilemma of superhuman youngsters with nowhere to go and no one to teach them how to understand their abilities. Professor Himiko and her team built the academy on the outskirts of Oita, capital of the eponymous northeastern prefecture of Kyushu. In the 35 years since, the academy has become the most popular and successful school for those gifted with powers and talents once considered beyond mortals. Only the Harrison Academy rivals Yamatai for reputation and breadth of training. Whether students wish to study hyper-advanced technology, ki-based physical enhancement, personal metahuman abilities, or the mystic arts, Yamatai Academy can help them master their potential.
Harrison Academy
Covering the portion of Rodman’s Neck south of Orchard Beach and Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx is the only facility on Earth that rivals Yamatai Academy. The Harrison Academy was built in the aftermath of 2005’s Haud War and named for the Golden Age Mystic Transcendent. It provides education and safe haven for metahumans who need control, shelter, or both. The school also trains select non-powered costumed adventurers.

Season Two: Dark Empire Sneak Peek – Introducing Master Mordred
Long ago, he was Prince Medraut of Caerleon, son of King Athrwys. While Master Mordred believes that his first life was the basis of some legends that later writers would attribute to Arthur, he readily admits that few of the later elements existed there. Caerleon had no Round Table, no counterparts to Lancelot or Percival or Tristan, and his mother was in no way associated with some tawdry affair. There were great heroes in that time, and the age’s Mystic Transcendent was British, but that was because of a terrible malignance on the isle. In his youth, Medraut marched against this evil with the flower of his father’s generation.
Project Update: $20K Unlocked Plus Dramatis Personae for Absolute Power Season Two: Dark Empire
$23K Stretch Goal: Diceless Absolute Power
Let’s continue with another digital stretch goal. If funding reaches $23K, we will create a brief PDF document that discusses how groups can run Absolute Power as a diceless (i.e. randomless) game. If you’ve never played a diceless RPG, this could be a great opportunity to give one a try with a familiar game and setting. This content will be made available as a free PDF download for all backers at the $44+ PREVIEWER tier and above.
Season Two: Dark Empire – Dramatis Personae
Today, we are presenting the 50 Absolute Power characters that have stats and background write-ups in the Season Two: Dark Empire expansion. The list below provide the characters’ primary team/organisation affiliation, too. Characters listed as independents may still be part of a group (like Miolnir working for the Kingdom of Thule), but they often operate solo or take on roles with lower-profile NPCs.
Season Two Heroes
- Red Knights – Alice: Queen of Wonder, Crusader, Doctor Matthews, Iron Duke, Sancus
- Ascension Force – Akanidi, Captain Kobo, Coldstone, Delta-V II, Doc Redsmith, Fortuna, Kaleidoscope, Lady Starbright II, Red Lightning, Sister Echo
- The Untouchables – Anasazi, Doc Wilde, Drifter II, Lady Luminette, Legacy II, Misthunter, Raze, Skybreaker, Tammy Wiseberg, Whitehat II
- Independent – Master Mandragora, Orion, Stone Angel
Season Two Neutrals
- The Order – Agent Zero II, Deadly Silk, Grey Ghost, Hellion II, Iron General II, Sister Tiamat, Sleeper, Stasis II

Prime Attributes
- The Attributes that come to mind immediately when thinking about the character are given top priority.
- Higher Level Attributes, or those worth the greater number of Points, are usually listed before the others unless a lower-value Attribute is considered more iconic for the character.
- The actual Levels, as well as effective Levels, are provided. The actual vs. effective priority in relation to the order in which the Attributes are listed is considered on an individual basis.
- Important Items may be listed on their own with the relevant full Point cost, or individual Item Attributes may be included. Alternatively, multiple entries for a single Item may appear.
- Alternate Weapon Attributes are listed at full cost (2 Points per Level) instead of at the discounted 1/Level cost.
- Attributes with numerical game effects that are subsumed in Stat, Health, or Combat Value entries are excluded.
