The Atanad: A collection of post-collapse dark fantasy

Ancient barrows house terrible weapons and dark magicks. Warlocks, desiring power above all else, make Faustian pacts with capricious entities. Warlords battle over the scraps of a fallen empire. And in the midst of it all, Atanas, a scholar-turned-warrior, strives to create his destiny.

The Atanad is a collection of sword & sorcery, grimdark fantasy, and existentialist horror short stories centered on the lives of Atanas, who struggles to eke out his place in a fallen world and defy death itself. If you're looking for stories with echoes of Old Moon Quarterly, Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman, and Junji Ito's macabre horrors, this might just be the book for you.

This campaign will support launching an illustrated collection eight stories (plus bonus content!) as an ebook, in a professionally produced paperback edition, and potentially a bookshelf-worthy hardcover edition. Stretch goals will include bonus illustrations and an audiobook version.
