This is a shipping update to clarify some details I didn't touch on before, as well as to remind you about surveys. 

Surveys have been sent out, if you have not yet completed your survey, please do so. To find you survey, please search your email for an email from Backerkit and The Snarky Company. You can also find your survey on Backerkit by logging into your account and going to your backed projects page.

If you've searched your email and your Backerkit account and cannot find your survey, please email [email protected] with the name and email associated with your pledge, and we can help locate your survey. 

This campaign will have two lockdown/charge dates. The first lockdown date is May 9th, and the second lockdown date is May 17th. The survey lockdown is when we lock your survey and charge your card for shipping costs and any optional add-on items.  Please visit here for all the need to know information about survey lockdown. 

To have participated in the Refer a Friend program you would have emailed me with the name on your pledge and that of your friends. I recorded those names and orders and replied back to your email to let you know it was recorded. After the second lock down, I will reach out to those of you who referred a friend, via email, to find out what two designs you'd like added to your order for free. Those pins have to be manually added through the back end. So please keep any eye out for an email after May 18th to choose your two free pins for referring a friend.

If you backed both Ink & Enamel, and Celestial, then you know you will be receiving two free Pintopia collab pins. One pin will be shipped with your Ink & Enamel order, and the other will be shipped with your Celestial order. Please note that you do not have to do anything to receive these pins. If you backed both of these campaigns then these pins have been automatically added to your survey, and you should see them in your item list. 

Surveys are being sent today, but may take some time for all of them to be sent. Please check your email throughout the day for a survey email from BackerKit.

This campaign will have two lockdown/charge dates. The first lockdown date is May 9th, and the second lockdown date is May 17th. There is no difference between the lockdown dates, an early lockdown just allows us to get funds quicker and order pins sooner. If you aren't sure about your design choices, don't complete your survey before the 9th, you can always wait to complete and submit it on or before the 17th.

Once surveys are locked down your card will be charged for shipping fees and any add-ons. If for any reason you cannot finish your survey and make your payment by the 18th, no worries. We understand that sometimes life gets in the way, or you might be waiting for a payday, or you need more time to decide. The deadline to guarantee you receive your design choices is May 30th. If you aren't ready by the 30th, simply don't complete the last step of the survey. The last step of the survey is the confirmation page where you can review all your details and enter in your card details for shipping costs, if you're not ready to submit, just exit the page and you can go back to it later.

After May 30th you will still be able to complete and submit your survey, but we may not be able to guarantee that you receive all your design choices. If we run out of one of your chosen designs while packing orders, we will reach out to you to choose a new design. It's very rare that this happens as we usually order more than extra of each pin. It's better to get your survey done sooner, and before the 30th.

If your original pledge charge failed, or you cancelled it thinking it was fraud, you will still receive a survey. The survey will allow you to make up this failed charge, so you can still receive your rewards.

The purpose of the add-on section is to add extra items you may want shipped with your pledge. Add-ons are entirely optional, if you do not want extra items, please skip this step. Please note that any items added from this add-on section will ship with your pledge level, and not before.

You'll notice that as backers you receive a discounted price on most pin add-ons. 

Each backer receives one free 2x6 standard bookmark. That bookmark is called the Read More Books Foil Bookmark, and it will automatically be added to your order. You will see a listing for this bookmark in the add-ons section. That listing is only if you want to order extras of this bookmark. 

You will see a few pin designs, stickers, and other items set as stretch goal add-ons. This just means that there is a minimum number of orders we need to meet to manufacturer that item. Some of the stretch goal add-ons were designs that didn't fit with the campaign, or they were too specific, or I just thought of the design after the campaign ended. If we reach the stretch goal quantity you will be charged for that item and it will be included in your order. If we do not reach a stretch goal for a specific item, we first determine whether we can manufacture it anyway, and if we cannot the item is removed from your order and you are not charged for it. 

You will be able to change your shipping address up until the lockdown. After the lock down date, if you need to update your shipping address, please email [email protected], and we can manually update your shipping address. Please let us know as soon as possible that you need to update your address so we can amend the address before your package is sent. If you fail to notify us of an address change, and your package is returned to us, we will ship it again, however, you will have to pay another shipping charge. 

We will post an update for last call address changes before we start shipping packages.

There is a pre-order store for this campaign. The purpose of the pre-order store is to allow anyone who did not pledge to the campaign a chance to order these pins. You can access the pre-order store with this link.

Please note that the pre-order store is separate from your survey. All items in the pre-order store are in the add-ons section of your survey. On occasion backers have confused the pre-order store with their survey and placed a second order by accident.

Hey everyone,

As you know today is survey day, well it's supposed to be, and it sort of is. The surveys have been approved and I'm working on some last minute additions before I send out the smoke test. A smoke test is where we send out a small percentage of surveys (around 5%), and we plan to send the smoke test out late this afternoon. The smoke test allows us to monitor this small selection of surveys to detect any possible issues before we send out surveys to everyone. There's no say in who get's their survey sent out in the smoke test as it's random, but there are no first come, first serve items in the add-ons section, so no need to worry if you're not in the smoke test. If all goes well with the smoke test then surveys will either be sent later today, or tomorrow morning. When all surveys are sent I'll post another update with all pertinent survey information.

Hey everyone,

I did say that there would be Read Queer Stories for the pride flags that did not become pins, and that's what I've been working on today, so here's what I have so far.

Every option that was in the poll, that received at least 1 vote, got a sticker re-color, with the exception of a few. Those few exceptions were because there was a bit of contention over what flag/colors to use.

For the below flags, I need clarification on which flag to use. If you have strong feelings about which flag colors should be used, please identify the flag and colors in the comments below. Example: (Polyamory flag: red, black, blue, yellow)

It's important to remember: These stickers will be available as add-on stretch goals. An Add-on stretch goal means a specific number of stickers needs to be purchased to actually manufacture them due to printer minimum order quantiles. For each of these stickers a quantity of 15 needs to be purchased to manufacture them. When you add an add-on stretch goal to your order, if we reach the minimum number goal, you will be charged for that item on the lockdown date, and you'll receive it with your order. If we do not meet a minimum order number for an add-on item then it is removed from your order and you are not charged.

I just wanted to send out an update to let you know it's going to be quiet for a bit. I will be working on the surveys/preorder store this week, so I will be behind the scenes quietly getting everything together.

Pre-order Store
Just a quick reminder that the pre-order store will launch April 26th, but the pre-order store is not the same as your survey. The pre-order store is solely for people who missed the campaign but still want to order these pins. Feel free to browse the pre-order store so you can take a look at the add-ons that will be available within your survey.

Surveys
The expected date for surveys to be released is May 2nd, however, that could be subject to change, depending on the smoke test. Once I send out the surveys I will send out an update to let you know they're open.

EB Tier Upgrade
If you are wanting to upgrade your Early Bird pledge for more pins, please email me at [email protected] with the name and email associated with your pledge, and the EB tier you want to be moved to. You can move from one EB tier to another, but not from a regular tier to an EB tier.

Below are the two new Library themed designs, both unlocked!

Hey everyone,

There is just about 8 hours left in the campaign! Thank you all so much for supporting this campaign, it's now my most successful pin campaign run on BackerKit crowdfunding!

If we reach 1000 backers than each pledge with come with one free extra pin, of your choosing, from any of the unlocked designs. Yesterday when I posted that goal we were over 100 backers away, and I called the goal "a little out there". Clearly I was wrong because ya'll pulled up and as I'm writing this we're just 6 backers away from reaching that goal.

Keep in mind the referral program where you can get two free pins for referring a friend, and now, if we reach 1000 backers you'll get another free pin on top of that. For information about the refer a friend program please read the previous update.

Two new designs have been added since we last added the Library Pins.

The Do Not Disturb pin is modeled after a hotel door hanger and features headphones, a book, and an e-reader, because regardless of how we consume our books, we want to be left alone to read in peace!

The Roses are Red pin features a baroque style frame border, and a little smut poem for all the romance readers out there. One thing to keep in mind with this pin is the way it's constructed. This pin is essentially two pins faceted together, which means this pin is thick. Due to the sanding and polishing process of enamel pins the die struck 3d part has to be made separately from the enamel and screen printed part. If you order this pin just keep in mind that it will be thicker and heavier than your average pin.

As of right now these are the last two designs of the campaign. I have an idea for another pin, but I don't know if it will be included or not. However, the success of this campaign could mean that later this year we might launch Ink & Enamel 2, because I still have so many book/reading related designs I want to make.

Hey everyone,

I cannot say thank you enough to everyone who backed this campaign! It was so awesome being able to break my personal BackerKit backer count record. This campaign is now my 2nd most successful pin campaign ever. Ya'll are so awesome and I cannot wait to see these pins come to life!

Now that the campaign has ended Backerkit will begin charging cards for pledges. Within the next 1-2 days you should see a charge from SNARKYCO on your statement, however, sometimes it says BackerKit.

Failed Payments
If your payment fails BackerKit will attempt to charge your payment method a few more times in the following days. If your payment fails every time, you will still be able to pay for your pledge within your survey to get your rewards. If you have a failed pledge payment you will still receive your survey and you can update your payment within the survey to ensure you still get the pledge level you choose and freebie items.

Surveys
In roughly two weeks you will receive a BackerKit survey, sometime around May 2nd. I will also send out an update before surveys go out. The purpose of the survey is to choose the designs you want for your pins, provide your shipping address, and pay for shipping. The survey will also have an add-ons section and that is where you'll find other items like stickers, tote bags, bookmarks, extra pins, etc. Add-ons are entirely optional.

EB Tier Upgrade
If you are an Early Bird Backer and you want to upgrade your EB tier to include more pins, please email me at [email protected], with the name and email associated with your pledge and what tier you want to upgrade to. You can switch from one EB to tier to another EB tier, but you cannot switch from a regular tier to an EB tier. You can switch your EB tier all the up until surveys go out.

Pre-order Store
In roughly a week we will launch a pre-order store. This pre-order store is solely meant for people who missed the campaign and are not backers. If you are a backer and you see the pre-order store link on the page, please do not confuse it with your survey. Feel free to send the pre-order store link to any friends who missed the campaign. Just remember, the pre-order store is not your survey. In the past, a few backers got confused about that and placed pre-order store orders thinking it was their survey.

Freebie Items
Once you complete the pledge level questions on your survey and get to the final page, you will automatically see freebie items that come with your pledge, in your items list. If you are missing any free items from that list please email [email protected].

Refer a Friend
If you participated in the refer a friend program you will receive an email from me with confirmation that I saw your email and made a note. When surveys are released I will email you to find out what two free pins you want added to your order, because I have to add them manually.

We are officially just 24 hours away from the end of the campaign. I'm dropping by with a few end of campaign details to keep in mind.

To choose the designs for your pledge level you will receive a survey. This survey will come from BackerKit and we will collect information such as, design choices, any optional add-ons, and shipping address/shipping fees. Please note that the surveys will not be sent out until two weeks after the campaign ends. We will send out an update when the surveys have been sent.

Currently on the campaign page there are a few add-on items that you can add to your pledge. There have been some questions about whether there will be other add-ons, specifically stickers. There will be other add-ons within your survey, such as stickers, bookmarks, more pins, tote bag, etc. Due to the limited nature of customization of add-ons on the campaign page, we've chosen to save most of the add-ons for the survey.

Sorry I originally sent this update with the wrong poll attached, so you may receive two notifications. 

We are closing in on the last 48 hours of the campaign. As promised, new designs are coming, but may be revealed within the last 48 hours, and even after. All new designs to be revealed will be unlocked. As mentioned before, I was out of town over the weekend for a family funeral and was unable to work on finishing these designs. It was my grandmother's funeral who lived to 95 before passing away, and thank you to everyone who sent their condolences. This project has really been a bright light in an otherwise crappy month. 

I have a few designs in the works that need to be finalized, and a few ideas on my list. I want to know what designs you want to see next, so either vote in the poll, or leave a comment!

This campaign has really exceeded my expectations, and I'm so happy to have met so many backers who love this book/reading community! I want to end the campaign strong, so I'm going to throw out a kind of "out there" achievement. If we hit 1000 backers, each pledge will receive one free extra pin, of your choosing, from all unlocked designs. When we give free pins with an order it's usually a smaller, cost effective pin, however, if we reach this goal we will be giving out 1000 pins, and you get to choose which one you want!

We're in the final days of the campaign but I just want to put a few reminders out before the campaign end. 

I still  have a few more new designs that have not yet been revealed, but they are on their way. Some many not be announced until the campaign end, but nonetheless I will announce them and they will be available as choices for your pledge level. This past weekend I went back to my home state for a funeral and that meant I missed out on working for a few days, so I wasn't able to finalize some designs.

We met both the 750, and 850, backer achievements! This means each order will come with a free Banned Books Sticker, and a free bookish pin. 

Starting today we're implementing a refer a friend program, that will run till the end of the campaign. If you refer a friend (family member, colleague, frenemy, fellow book lover) to the campaign, and they pledge successfully, you will receive an extra free pin with your pledge. For this extra free pin you can choose from any of the unlocked designs. You can refer up to two friends and receive up to two free pins. Unfortunately, at this time, there’s no way for us to automatically track referrals. If you refer a friend, and they pledge, you will need to email [email protected] with the following information:

Once we receive your email we’ll check to ensure your referred friend made a pledge and make a note on our end. When surveys are delivered we’ll reach out to ask you what design you want for your free pin. You can refer a friend up to two times, meaning you can potentially earn up to two free pins. Please keep in mind that your referred friend’s pledge must be charged successfully at the end of the campaign for you to receive your free pin. For each campaign, as more designs become unlocked, we offer Early Bird backers an opportunity to upgrade their early bird pledge. Early Bird tiers are the pledge levels offered in the first 48 hours of the campaign.

If you pledged into an EB tier but want more pins, we can move you from one tier to another. (example: you pledged EB 2, but want to switch to the EB 5) Keep in mind you can switch from one Early Bird tier to another, but not from a regular tier to an EB tier.

If you'd like to upgrade your Early Bird tier, please email [email protected] with your name and email associated with the campaign, and what tier you're currently in, and which tier you'd like to upgrade to. Please note that we may take up to 1 week to send confirmation of your pledge change. You upgrade your EB tier at any time, up until surveys go out.

We make the switches manually and you'll see the change reflected in your survey, and within your survey you'll be able to pay the difference.
