This is an announcement to let you know that the remaining OYS 2 pins are now on Etsy for sale to backers and the public.

Each design is counted to see the remaining quantity, and then I subtract a percentage of that quantity to cover any backers who complete their survey in the grace period, or any backers who may have had lost packages and a new one needs to be sent.

Almost all the designs had leftover pins, with the exception of a few. The quantities of the pins now listed on Etsy range from 2-20+ per variant. Everything in the store is also on sale for 10% off, no coupon code needed.

If you were wanting to get some of these pins to give as Christmas gifts, USPS has said the last day to receive domestic priority mail before Christmas is December 20th. While that's the USPS guarantee I can't guarantee that the pins will reach you in time for Christmas. The USPS is usually on time, but they do have their occasional hiccups. The last day I'll be packing orders before I close for the holidays is December 21st.

What's currently not listed

B grades
I am still counting the B grades and working on creating the listings for B grade pins, two time consuming tasks. If you were hoping to snag some B grades at a discounted price, check the Etsy shop in 1-2 days and they should be up.

Stickers
I have not yet had time to photograph the stickers for this campaign, but will be working on that tomorrow and wednesday, they should be listed by Friday.

Hey everyone,

As The Snarky Company prepares for 2024 I am thinking about what kinds of pin collections I want to create, as well as different kinds of products to produce. The goal for next year is to run 2-3 crowdfunded campaigns, with one larger campaign where the theme is relatable to a larger audience (similar to OYS and AOS), and two smaller campaigns with more niche themes ( think gaming/gamers or books/readers). With that being said, I'm attaching a poll here to get a better gauge on what backers are looking for.

In 2024 I'm trying to focus on bringing you different products as well. I'm currently researching sublimation, working on some iron on patch designs, acrylic keychains, and art prints. These newer products take some time to create because I first have to design them, but then need to find reputable manufacturers to make them happen.

Currently there is no feature within Backerkit polls to pick more than one option, so pick your favorite option, and feel free to leave a comment below with any other themes or ideas.

Heres a quick breakdown and explanation of the options on this poll:

Pride/Queer - This one is pretty self explanatory, pins themed around sexual preferences, gender identities, and all things LGBTQIA+. I've been asked multiple times for a collection like this, and while I identify as queer, I just haven't had the chance to sit down and draw up some designs.

Body Neutrality / Anti Diet Culture - This collection is all about body neutrality, not to be confused with body positivity. Body positivity focuses on cultivating acceptance towards a positive body image through unconditional self-love (which isn't inherently a bad thing), but body neutrality does not involve constant positivity but rather an acknowledgement and appreciation of all the things the body can do, regardless of what it looks like. This will also include pins that are anti diet culture.

Gaming/Gamers - Pins for all my gaming friends out there, not necessarily just video games, but table top games as well. I will definitely need some input from backers for these pins, as I'm mostly a video game player, and don't know a whole lot about tabletop or games like dnd.

Books/Readers - This one is also pretty self explanatory. Pins about reading, books, and genres. I'm mostly a romance reader, but the collection won't just feature romance book related pins.

Kawaii - I've always loved kawaii style illustration, but it's never something I've taught myself or tried. If you've backed my campaigns you know my style falls in traditional and neotradtional tattoo flash style. This would be a little foray into designing some kawaii style food and drink pins.

ITA Bag - This one is not so much a pin collection but instead a bag. An ITA bag is a bag with a clear window to display your pins. The kind of ITA bag I have been designing over the years is a medication bag that can be used to store medications at home, or when traveling. ITA bags require you to find a manufacturer and work with them on making a sample, which can be expensive and time consuming. While I'd love to finally put this ITA bag out there in 2024, it may be closer to 2025. While this is a bag and not a pin collection, of course there will still be a small selection of pins that will go along with this campaign.

OYS 3 - If you want more mental health/stigma related pins, just let me know.

Hey everyone, 

This is a notification to let you know that this project is coming to an end and to provide you with the last shipping update, as well as end of project information.

All orders marked as "ready to ship" in Backerkit have been packed and are out the door (there are still about 45 orders on my porch waiting to be picked up by the mailman).  If you did not receive your order yet, please check for a tracking email from BackerKit. It's possible you may have had one of the recently packed orders and your tracking information will be updated in the next 24-48 hours.

🚨 Incomplete Surveys

There are 15 backers who paid for their pledge, but did not complete their survey, or complete the shipping payment. If you’re one of these backers, you have 30 days from today (today to January 8th, 2024) to fill out your survey and pay for shipping. If you do not complete your survey within the 30 days, per the terms and conditions of this project, that you agreed to when you submitted and paid for your pledge, you forfeit your rewards and will not be given a refund.

There are currently 2 backers with failed survey charges. This means that you filled out your survey and provided card details, but when we charged your card for shipping, the payment failed. If you do not complete your payment within the 30 days (today to January 8th, 2024), per the terms and conditions of this project, that you agreed to when you submitted and paid for your pledge, you forfeit your rewards and will not be given a refund.

🚨 Charge Disputed

There are a few backers who completed their survey, but their bank disputed the pledge charge after the survey was complete. This means that you were able to submit your survey, but you did not pay for your pledge since the bank revoked the funds. If this happened to your order we sent an email with information on how to pay for your pledge. If we do not receive an email within 30 days of when we first reached out, you will forfeit your rewards and will not be given a refund. 

📦 Orders that were returned to sender

If we receive an order that’s been returned to sender, we will email to let you know. That email will contain information on how to get your package sent out again. If we do not receive a response within 45 days of our initial email, you forfeit your rewards and will not be given a refund. 

📦 Never received orders

If your order tracking email says “delivered”, but you did not receive your order, please first contact your local post office with your tracking number. Your post office is the best chance of finding the lost order. If your local post office cannot locate your package, please email us at [email protected]

If you did not receive your package because of an address change, or because you entered the wrong address, and did not notify us of an address change, we can ship your order again, but the backer is responsible for paying a second shipping fee, per the terms and conditions of this project. If you did notify us of an address change but have not received your order, please email us at [email protected]

For any US backers who are unable to locate their package, you will have 30 days (today to January 8th, 2024) to notify us that you did not receive your package. If you are an international backer you have 45 days to (today to January 23rd, 2024) to notify us that you did not receive your package. If you fail to notify us within those timelines, that your package is missing, you will forfeit your rewards, a new package will not be sent, and you will not receive a refund, per the agreed upon terms and conditions of this project.

We are willing to work with backers however we can to help get any missing orders into your hands. If you order is missing please contact us within the timelines stated above.

📣 OYS 2 Pins going for sale on Etsy and the B grade sale

The remaining pins from this project will eventually go up for sale on Etsy. You will have a chance to purchase these OYS 2 pins, as well as b grades at a discounted price. As of right now, I don't have a date for when these pins will be listed. I still need to wrap up loose ends on this project, photograph the pins, catalog and count inventory, and create the listings. To be honest, I took on way more work this holiday season than I usually do (my own fault), and I'm exhausted. Now that I've completed shipping all 956 orders (give or take the 50 that my partner helped with) I'd like to take a break and try to enjoy the holiday season. I will still be packing Etsy orders, answering emails, and monitoring the remaining incomplete surveys. So while I don't have an estimated date for when the remaining pins will go up for sale on Etsy, I am estimating that it will be in the January 2024. I will of course post an update once the listings are up.

What's next
Throughout the holiday and into January I will be working behind the scenes on the All Out of Spoons project. I'm now in the stage of collecting survey responses, and will soon move onto ordering and manufacturing the pins. If you backed that campaign keep an eye out for updates along the way.

I'm also currently planning one larger campaign for 2024, and by larger I mean pins that are relatable to a larger audience (here's my personal hint as to how I relate to this larger project 💙💜💖, 🍳💖💛💙)  However, I will also be possibly running some smaller niche projects around topics near and dear to my heart and life (think reading/book pins, and gamer pins). While I can't make any promises, an ITA bag may also be in the works for this year.

Hey everyone,

I'm sending out this update to give you the final shipping update, as well as the last backer holiday coupon code.

Last Shipping Update

There are currently 50 orders sitting in a postal box on my porch, waiting to be picked up by the post man. He usually comes around noon each day. Those 50 orders are the last of the backers who completed their surveys by the survey lock down date. If you recently received an email from BackerKit with your tracking information, please keep in mind it can take 1-2 days for any tracking information to show on USPS. The tracking emails are sent when your label is printed, but tracking information doesn't show until the post office has scanned your order. On occasion the post office does not scan a package but still sends it to its destination. Those unscanned orders show as unfulfilled in Backerkit, and I will reach out to those people in a couple days to ensure they got their package so I can manually mark them as fulfilled in Backerkit.

There are 45 orders left, mostly backers who completed their surveys after the lockdown date, and those orders will be packed today and shipped out tomorrow.

If you haven't received your order, or you want to know the status of your order, please give me 24 hours before emailing. Once I pack these last 45 orders, I will send out the last campaign update which will contain all information on how to find your order if you have not yet received it.

The final update will also contain information about when the remaining OYS 2 pins go up for sale on etsy, and a b grade sale.

Shipping Update

I would estimate that we are now 3/4 of the way through shipping. This past weekend I packed just under 250 orders and sent them to the post office yesterday. BackerKit is showing that there are still 280/978 orders left, however, I believe it's actually less than 280. An order isn't marked as fulfilled in BackerKit until it is scanned at the post office. Once I take orders to the post office it takes about 1-3 days for the true numbers to be reflected in BackerKit. If you want to know if your order has recently shipped, please search your email inbox for an email from BackerKit with tracking information. Please note that you may receive a tracking email, but you may not actually see tracking information for 1-2 days after receiving that email. Emails are sent when shipping labels are printed, but from the time the email has been sent we still have to pack the order and take it to the post office. If your order has not shipped but you'd like to check on it's progress, please email [email protected] and we will get back to you. 

I will be packing some orders today, and some tomorrow, but will take a break from Wednesday-Sunday for the Thanksgiving holiday. If you are not from the US, thanksgiving is this Thursday. Packing will resume and mostly likely be wrapped up early next week. Once all orders have shipped an email with all the important information about the end of the project will be sent out.

Hey everyone, 

Just dropping by with a mid shipping update. By now about 1/3 of the orders have been shipped. If your order shipped you would have received an email from BackerKit with tracking information. The original goal was to have all orders shipped by Thanksgiving. Right now my dining room is my shipping/packing station, and I'm hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year, so ideally it would be great to have my dining room back. I went out of state last weekend to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday, but I unfortunately picked up a flu or virus while I was traveling. I have been sick since I returned on Monday so it's kind of thrown a wrench in my plans for packing this week. I have taken two covid tests and both have been negative, but I will not pack orders while I'm sick for obvious contamination reasons.  I will resume packing orders by the end of this week, or early next week. At this rate I'm thinking that by thanksgiving i'll be 75% through the orders, there are about 600 orders left to pack. You can always check on your order and find out where your order is in the queue by emailing [email protected]. Please keep in mind that while I may receive your email you may not get a response for a few days. If you need to update your shipping address, please email the above email address so we can update your shipping address asap.

Hey everyone,

I’m just dropping by with a camping update on shipping. 

I now have all the pins from the manufacturer, and I’m currently waiting on a shipment of stickers, as well as some packaging supplies. Over the next 1-2 weeks I will be preparing the items for shipment. This means counting and sorting pins, quality checking the pins, putting together sticker packs, weighing all items and adding in important shipping details, and preparing the shipping station. I expect to start shipping orders out starting September 18th. Orders are shipped in the order in which the surveys were locked down. We start with surveys that were locked down on the official lockdown date (the majority of orders), and then we move on to each consecutive lock down date after that. This ensures that if you completed your survey by the official lockdown date, you will receive the designs you ordered. 

All completed surveys are now locked down, which means you will be able to update your shipping address. From our end we can still update your shipping address all the way up until we ship the order. If you need to update your address during the shipping process, please email [email protected] asap. If you fail to notify us about an address change, you may need to pay shipping a second time for a new package to be sent. 

Once your order ships you will receive a tracking number via an email from BackerKit. Please keep in mind you may receive a tracking number because we’ve printed your label, but you might not see tracking information for a few days. We usually print a stack of labels and then take a few days to work through them, and then drop them at the post office all at once.

Hey everyone,

It's been a while but I'm stopping by to let you know about a short production delay. I received the manufacturer drafts a little over a week ago but I was unable to look through and approve them at that time. Unfortunately, a week ago I ended up in the emergency room and was then admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery. It wasn't anything too serious, but I had to have my gallbladder removed due to gallstones and infection. I had the surgery and thought all would be well, but soon after I got home I ended up back in the hospital for a complication from that surgery, and ended up having another procedure. All in all, I spent about a week in the hospital, on all kinds of pain killers and unable to work for several days. I have been home for two days now, but today is the first day I can sit and stand up without feeling dizzy or tired. The factory will not start production on the pins until I approve the manufacturer drafts. With about 30 plus designs it will take me most of today to go through those proofs to make sure the details are all correct. We are still on schedule to start shipping in September, but we are behind by about a week. Thanks for all your patience during this time where I had to sort out some health issues.
