Holy shit, that took a while. 

The books have arrived in both the UK and US. 

I've got a hallway full of hardbacks and I'm happy as a pig in the proverbial. 

Some of the US stock arrived damaged (about 40 books, which is a high proportion). This doesn't affect you: there are plenty of good, undamaged copies to fulfil your orders. It's just a bit irritating.

I am having some minor issues acquiring enough copies of Midwinter Ghost Stories: we, uh, accidentally sold out over the summer and it turns out the print files for the hardback edition are not archived safely with the rest of my back catalogue, but languishing on a dead laptop. Long story short, data recovery should be finished next week, and by the time I'm done locking orders and charging shipping, the books should be in my hands. These are getting printed in the UK and will take somewhere between 2-4 weeks: there is no horrendous, interminable, international freight situation (except me FedExing a box to the US warehouse, which takes like... four days, on average). 

I'm going to set up shipping charges in Backerkit this coming week. Then the setup goes to the Backerkit team for review, which takes up to another week - usually less, on a relatively simple and small-scale project like this one. So in about two weeks, I'll be processing final shipping charges. I will give everyone around two weeks after that to complete payment, because some cards will error etc.

Then I lock addresses and ship books.
 
There will no doubt be a handful of orders that can't ship because shipping charges failed - this always happens, especially when a project's taken a while and, for example, the card you initially paid with has expired. You will get endless emails from Backerkit about this, so will have plenty of chances to update your information, but if you haven't got around to it by the time the majority of orders ship, I'll do another check in a few weeks' time and handle any outstanding orders then. 

Thank you. You've been overwhelmingly patient on this project, which is now a full year late. Between work on the manuscript being slow, and a print and freight process involving a completely new set of partners, Meatbags has not been a great example of an Ex Stasis Games project. It's not the first one to have stretched out, but it's very much not what I aim for. I'm very conscious of how lucky I am to have backers willing to wait on me, especially when for a lot of you this is your first experience of ordering books from us. 

We're getting there, folks.
