Treasured by dwarves, prized by elves, mystery surrounds mithril, one deeper than any riddle of steel.
The dwarven mines of Grungin have long been the envy of kings. For untold generations, the mountain has yielded its treasures freely, and the forges of Grungin rang to the song of the hammer. Now the mines have fallen silent. The deepest shafts stand abandoned, tools left where they dropped, and the miners who fled speak only in whispers… if they speak at all.
Now, something ancient stirs in the dark below.
Jarl Thorek Goldkeeper needs outsiders for this work, for the dwarves of Grungin know too much about what lies in the deep places beneath Grungin. Because they have always known, on some level, that the silver veins of mithril running through the heart of their mountains are something more than ore. They simply chose never to ask why mithril seems almost alive in the hands of the worthy.
But now, those questions will be answered... in blood.
