With Manera's Guide to Taming the Wild, you will have a robust rule set to take any Beast or Monster from DnD 5e and have it join your party as a fully fledged character that we call a Companion.
1. Expand on the classic sidekick mechanic to include virtually any beast or monster in DnD lore.
2. Create a system of rules that would allow for a small group of 2-4 people (including the DM) to play a game without having to modify the story / stats of the intended published encounter.
This guide allows for a Player to create a Companion that they control, but is on par is function and power of a normal party character, bringing balance and choice to the session.
A key focus of this guide is bringing more options while also retaining balance. Instead of making a character stronger by having a pet, or needing to nerf a character to accommodate, or making the DM adjust for the companion... the companion is a full fledged character in the campaign, on par with any other member of the party. A Companion can be used to fill in a gap, for a missing party member, or for a party that only has 4 or fewer player characters,
