Gravewatch is an upcoming horror game inspired by classics such as Outlast or Amnesia, where you get to play as two different protagonists, Daniel and Sara.
Hi! Iām Michal, better known online as Michmajstrcz š
Iām a solo game developer from the Czech Republic, and for the past year Iāve been working non-stop on Gravewatch, a horror game I hope will stay with players long after the credits roll.
Gravewatch is a single-player survival horror game inspired by classics like Outlast and Amnesia.
The story takes place deep within the American wilderness of Randolph Forest, where you take on the roles of two lovers, Daniel and Sara⦠but this is no camping trip.
Daniel and Sara are part-time criminals and grave robbers who have just set their sights on a new target: an abandoned cemetery. But their plan quickly turns into hell on earth when theyāre discovered by a cult based in the nearby village of Dreadmoore.
Now hunted through the depths of this forgotten place, Daniel and Sara must fight to survive, and whether they make it out alive⦠thatās up to you.
Gravewatch is a tense, story-driven horror experience where you have no weapons and must rely on stealth and instinct to survive. You'll play as both Daniel and Sara, uncovering the story from two perspectives as you explore a handcrafted world, face unpredictable enemies, and take on increasingly difficult challenges. The game features realistic graphics, runs smoothly even on lower-end PCs, and offers multiple difficulty modes, including a one-life option for those seeking a true test.
This game is more than just a passion project; itās something Iāve poured 4,000 hours into while juggling real-life challenges. Every wishlist, share, and every dollar helps me get closer to finishing this game. Gravewatch already boasts a wide range of achievements, including:
1900+ wishlists on Steam
200+ members on the official Discord
An Award from Debut Festival 2025 and millions of views on social media platforms
The game also features talented voice actors, immersive mechanics, and a demo thatās already been played by thousands of players, leading me to believe that Gravewatch has the potential for worldwide success. The only thing missing now is funding. While Iām able to cover the gameās basic development costs using my disability pension, the features that truly set it apart (things like a custom soundtrack, models, and animations) can cost thousands of dollars. And thatās not even including marketing, branding, and other promotional expenses.
Hereās a breakdown of what the funds will be used for:
The demo has just been updated, so feel free to give it a try, wishlist the game, and share your thoughts in a review ā https://store.steampowered.com/app/2919790/Gravewatch/
Whether you just want your name in the credits or want to leave your mark on the world of Gravewatch forever, thereās something here for every kind of backer. From early access, wallpapers, and soundtracks⦠to having your name etched into a grave or even becoming the Founder of the town itself!
Your support helps bring the game to life in meaningful ways. Take a look at the reward tiers and see whatās available!
How much will the game cost?
During the first seven days after launch, the game will be available at a 20% discount for $9.99. That means every TIER 2 backer gets the game at the best possible price, and their name listed in the end credits. After the launch discount, the full price will be $12.50. (See the FAQ for more details about the game key)
As a solo developer working with a very limited budget, I originally relied on several AI tools to help fill in the gaps. This included temporary voice lines, AI-generated "art," and even a full soundtrack created using Suno. These tools allowed me to keep Gravewatch moving forward at a time when I had no other options.
Over time, I have worked hard to replace that content with real work.
The AI voice lines have been replaced with real, talented voice actors.
The music now consists of free tracks and will be professionally composed after reaching the first goal of ā¬4,500.
Most of the AI-generated visuals have already been removed.
At this point, only a few in-game textures and images remain.
If we reach the $10,000 goal, I will be able to fully remove the last traces of AI and replace everything with real assets. I believe in supporting real creatives whenever possible, and with your help, this could become a reality.
Gravewatch was originally set to release this September, but due to limited funding, it has been pushed to 2026. The game is almost finished; all it needs now is a little push from you to make it across the finish line.
