Feathered Fox Plush - Series 2

I got my art tablet back!

I finished Rosy Maple Moth Fox and White Honduras Bat Fox's ref. I'll be sending them to Tina shortly! 

I went with a black nose instead of pink. I don't want the pinks to clash and I really like the realistic plastic nose. I wish my manu could source one in Pink! we even reached out to custom nose manufacturers, but the ones who could potentially do it have an MOQ of 10,000 pieces. The only other thing that might be a problem with this design is the yellow going around the neck. My Plush don't really have a neck, lol. So we'll see how it works and adjust as needed :) This will be the eye I'm using! The green one next to the eye I circled is Luna Moths eye. They are SO gorgeous and magical in the light

I'm super excited for this one! I really want this yellow plastic nose I found! I think it will be the right size and work, but we'll see. MOQ is 1,000 pieces, but I'll pay for that and let Tina keep the extra, lol. I originally wanted to try the nose upside down because the Honduras bat has a nose shaped like that! But it just looked wrong, haha. So right side up it is! 

Also here's Bat Fox updated from Tina. The designer barely changed the mouth, BUT I kind of love it? I looked up fruit bats and they kind of have a silly mouth and face like that so I think I'll keep him as is, but I'll know better when I get him in person. I am worried about his side view, it looks like he has an overbite... I LOVE his new orange eyes though!

And here's a close up of his eyes I chose. I want to use all these eyes, so pretty!

Peacock designs! I STRUGGLED. These were the best I came up with. This design would have 3 tails. Not sure how well it would work sewing them all on! But it's neat. She'll be in the polls! If she doesn't make it into the finals I would throw her in with my future Kitsune designs I want to do still :) 

And another new bird design several people suggested who will be in the poll.

And here are all the other bird designs suggested to bring back! Last call for any I may have missed! These will go in the poll along with the 2 peacock variations and woodpecker

And last, but not least, fennec fox mockup! This will also be a small 12" plush. I went with the Topaz-Spotted Blue butterfly (Azanus jesous) since they can be found in the same desert region of Africa. Plus purple and and sandy brown look SO good together. The underside of the wings will be mostly tan and brown patterned. I want fur in the ears, but not sure how well it will work so might change my mind later. The muzzle may be too small to include the dark stripe, but we shall see! The pattern is the same as my other fox plush, ears have obviously been enlarged and eyes are bigger proportionately too! The wings are roughly sketched and will be cleaned up, I just wanted to share the design now with everyone so it's all in one post! 

A lot of people suggested dragon fox which I think would be such a cool idea! But I'm going to save it for a future campaign and take my time working on the concept art. I also did a cross fox and silver fox for fun. They will also be saved for a different campaign. I do want to do a monarch butterfly still! And a blue morpho at some point too. There are just too many amazing ideas ❤️

Oops, I also forgot! A small coyote pigeon will be in the polls too! Should I make it a pigeon fox? Or try and make it a small coyote pigeon, same colors, patterns, maybe ears a bit bigger?

Northern Mockingbird Fox design! I changed the eye color from brown to a metallic gold? I looked at more photos of the actual bird and realized they can have yellow or yellow green eyes. I thought gold was a nice fit!

Also, I left my art tablet at a friends last week and won't be able to get it back until June 14th *sadface*

I have SO many ideas I want to draw. I ALSO wanted to share this little guy I had Tina's company make for fun and to see how a small fox design would work. I don't love his face (I want eyes higher up and ears bigger), but the body is great! The wings are a bit stiff at this size so I'm going to see if they can remove the foam and have them be floppier and snugglier.

I do NOT plan on this specific design (small blue jay) being available for this campaign. He had the most issues with quality on the larger size so I want to avoid him again if possible.
I DO currently plan on having MAYBE 2 small designs in this campaign (unlockable goals if we get enough funding). Pricing on them would be $35-40 (waiting on more accurate costs to ship them to me). The standard size plush will be going up to $60. I had way more costs than I anticipated my last campaign and realized I'm not charging enough for the amount of time and work that I have to do. I also might use a fulfillment partner for this campaign if I get 500+ backers again. I cannot do it by myself again :(

I have decided one of the small designs will be the White honduras bat fox (thank you to whoever suggested it!)
And then another one I am going to try to do is a small fennec fox with butterfly or moth wings. Please feel free to make suggestions below! I want to stick with a classic sandy colored fennec fox if possible, but not opposed to other colors. Suwalesi moon moth (yellow one on google) is my top choice so far. And I know someone suggested another moth on my last post that I really liked!

And some new pictures of Luna moth and Fawn Fox! The spots on Fawn Fox have to stay embroidered, I'm so sorry. Tina's company can not do faux fur spots that small. These 2 designs are complete and finalized. Fawn Fox is a little darker than I expected. I may choose to lighten it, but only if Red tailed hawk is high up in the polls!
Kestrel Fox is being remade with the little black embroidered marking removed on his muzzle and all back ears now.

*UPDATE Tina says the spots are too small to be fabric on Fawn Fox so they will have to stay embroidered. I'm so sorry! I wish they could do it with faux fur. Kestrel is being remade now with the little embroidered side muzzle markings removed and all black ears <3

I've been super busy fulfilling my last plush campaign so I've had to take a break from these new designs for a bit! But I have time this week so I am going to ask Tina for edits to Kestrel and Fawn Fox.

For Fawn Fox I am asking if it's possible to make the spots on her back out of the same fabric as her brown body. I will update this post with her response!

The side of the face as well

I'm debating removing this little side marking from his face. I'm just so worried about all the different ways it could be messed up during mass production. But I also love how it looks if they can get it right. The muzzle stripe is fabric, but the little side marking under the stripe is embroidered. Thoughts on this? Would you be okay keeping it even if the one you receive might be crooked or off a little?

And I want to change the ears a little. I like the black tip idea, but again, the more little details the more likely there are to be mess ups in mass production. If I keep the black tipped ears idea I want them angled more, not straight across like they are currently. See photos below, the left is edited how I want

OR I can just have the whole ear be black. Thoughts?

Also here's a pic showing the underside of the wings better! They are crazy detailed! Since there is so much embroidery it's a bit rougher feeling than my other foxes, I hope that's alright. They are really spectacular in person. Also, my husband took all these pics for me since I'm out of town right now. Tell him thank you! I'm picky so he had to take lots of pictures to get him angled correctly for me, lol

And I got updated pics of Bat Fox today! The mouth is still wrong and the wing colors aren't quite right, BUT the wing shape is much better and I'm very happy overall. Here are the final edits (hopefully) that I've sent to Tina

I WILL be working on new designs and bringing some old ones back for some votes probably in early June. I want to have at least 12 designs planned for this campaign and the order figured out before it starts. I highly doubt all will be funded, but I want to be super prepared and have at least 8 samples finished and finalized before I launch ❤️
