Feathered Fox Plush - Series 2

Thank you EVERYONE for the success of my campaign so far! I was shocked this morning to see we've already unlocked 5 of the 12 designs. I am so absolutely honored and humbled. I'm excited to see how far we can go!

Which design are you most excited for?

So far we have unlocked the following designs:

Luna Moth Fox
Fawn Fox
Mini Goldfinch Fox
Fruit Bat Fox
Mini Honduran White Bat Fox

I'm so excited for these little guys! I'm still waiting on mini Goldfinch fox sample, but here are the other 2 minis for now.

Mini Honduran White Bat Fox is complete and shipping to me. His face is much improved from the last sample which looked more like a cat to me. He also has a bit longer ears, but I like them. His yellow fur colors are a bit paler than my mockup design. Due to how pale his nose is I think this is for the best. These colors are cohesive together. 

And here is the Fennec Fox! Changes WILL be made. The muzzle needs to be a lot smaller for sure. The ears need to be longer and more narrow. Nose smaller and maybe eyes a mm or 2 bigger? And how do we feel about the faux fur in the ears? I think it's a little long, it could be shorter. But also not opposed to removing it entirely so let me know how you guys feel! I'm super happy with the body colors I picked though! The wing placement is a little off, I'm having Tina send more pics so I can hopefully fix it. The wing patterns are printed which makes sense with how intricate they are. Color looks a bit off maybe? Wings should be more purple, but look more blue however these pics aren't in natural light so it's hard to tell. The butterfly is called a topaz spotted Blue so perhaps this color is more fitting :)

My campaign is scheduled to start this Monday at 7AM PST! I will be driving home from a sleep study that morning so hopefully everything goes smoothly. I was going to delay the campaign by a few hours, but I think it should be fine to stay at that time. If you have any questions that day just know my response will be delayed til the afternoon or evening!


*UPDATE* I had time tonight to edit the fennec fox photos. This is more what I'm going for visually :)

Updated prototypes!

Fantasy Peacock/Kitsune fox had her tail tip color and the underside purple wing color changed. The tail tips need to be more pointed, that will be fixed in production. No further changes will be made. I know some people wanted teal added and some don't think she looks like a peacock at all (she doesn't, these are fantasy colors), but her design was voted on so this is how she will stay. I will probably just call her Fantasy Kitsune instead of Peacock fox. Maybe a more peacock colored fox will be made in the future :)

Rosy Maple Moth Fox had yellow cheeks added! They did them a little differently than I imagined, but I like them. They still leave her face mostly pink and she looks more foxy to me so I'm pleased with the change. Wings were moved up slightly. They did try a version with a hard pink plastic nose, but I did not like it so black it is.

Cardinal Fox arrived! I love his face so much. Wings will change slightly. I want the thread that outlines the feathers a darker red color. And I will add more red variation to the top wings. Flight feathers will be a lighter red for sure. Not sure if I can find a darker red for the topmost section of the top of his wings, but we'll see.

Blackbird Fox also arrived. I love his fur! It is different than all the others so far and I just love how silky it is. The gray thread color on his wings will be slightly darker. 

I have set my campaign to officially start on August 31st at 7AM PST. I am just waiting on 3 prototypes to be completed: Mini Butterfly Fennec Fox, Mini Goldfinch, and Mini White Honduran Bat Fox. I should receive updates on them by next week, but even then I think I am comfortable proceeding with my campaign. Any changes they may need should be able to be completed before the end of the campaign :)

And just to have them all in one post, here's the other prototypes that have been completed! 

Kestrel Fox

Fruit Bat Fox. The embroidered fangs are adorable, but give her a slight overbite. Not sure if that can be fixed in production. Either way the fangs will for sure stay, they give her so much personality!   

Northern Mockingbird Fox

Fawn Fox. There will be an option to purchase him without the embroidered spots for those who are sensory sensitive. The spots are a bit rough since they are just thread and not faux fur.

Luna Moth Fox

The fantasy colored Peacock Fox prototype is complete! I am making a few minor changes.

Changes I am making include:
-Pink tail tip more pink to match wings (it looks kind of peachy right now)
-purple on underside of wings lighter 

I REALLY wanted the legs and ears a darker blue, but Tina says this is the darkest blue available. I could lighten the body, but then she would be too close or the same color as blue jay fox which I don't want. This royal blue is so fitting for her! Her 3 tails also look so cool, I can't wait to hold her in person! She is an unlockable goal for my campaign if we reach 100k. 

I am eagerly awaiting photos of Fennec fox! And updated pics of rosy maple moth. I ended up ordering 2 samples of her, 1 with a pink nose and 1 with a black nose. We will see which version looks better! 

Tina sent pics of cardinal fox and I have to say, I like him more than I thought I would! I'm not a fan of red, but wow. He's very striking. I DID change his wing colors. The top is all one solid color now. Tina tried the version with 3 different shades of red and they kind of clashed so I made the judgement call and I like the result :)

Next, Rosy maple fox is giving me trouble. I LOVE the new colors. Sooo much better than the pale pinks before. But for some reason the face looks like a bear to me now? Tina confirmed the artist used the same pattern as my other foxes, but the fabric elasticity could be different and affecting the shape. I think I want to try adding yellow cheeks to bring out the foxiness more. What do you guys think? Or should I try changing the fabric? I think it's mainly her muzzle not tapering at the end so perhaps just a different muzzle fabric? 

In comparison, this was her previous prototype with lighter colors. She looks foxy in this one.

Tina also tried to find a yellow nose with no success. They were too small and this one was waaay too big and made her look even more like a bear!

SO, my preference is to keep the nose black and add yellow cheeks. Maybe change the muzzle fabric? This is a pic I edited to show what I want.

OR let me know if you like a pink nose that probably clashes with the fur colors. It would be the same nose I used on violet budgie. It would be fuzzy and less realistic. With or without yellow cheeks

Thank you guys for your input! I really want these plush to look their best. It can be so hard getting a prototype just right sometimes! And of course the bulk produced ones will also differ slightly so it's really important for the prototypes to be close to perfect 🩷
