My Very Own Forest Spirit is a stroll-playing game inspired by My Neighbor Totoro. Play by yourself or with friends while on a hike or nature walk in this innovative game of magic, imagination, mindfulness and time in nature.
Free for All Media is a publishing project dedicated to radical sharing, with the goal of creating fully free and open media for everyone, and a community of players and co-creators. We release our games and art under open licenses for anyone to use. My Very Own Forest Spirit will be released under a Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike license so that anyone can build their own expansions for the game, or create their own games using the groundwork we've laid.
Spirit Cards are an optional add-on that allows anyone to start playing My Very Own Forest Spirit immediately without having to take the time to imagine their own Spirit into being. These are perfect for first getting into the game, trying different play-styles, or introducing your friends and loved ones to the game.
PRINTS
We are very lucky to have Morgan Hyatt (@magpiemohr on instagram) as our principal illustrator on the project. They are a talented printmaker and will be offering two special, exclusive, handmade prints of two of their illustrations for the game.
VOID: THE COOPERATIVE CARD GAME
We love small games, and created a lightweight tabletop game called VOID in the past, inspired by space-disaster films. It will be available in a special pledge level and as an add-on for those who want even more gameplay punch in their pocket.
FAMILY PORTRAIT
You can join the world of My Very Own Forest Spirit and have your likeness illustrated for inclusion in the game, alongside a spirit of your own design, all in the art style of the game.
OR you can have your own Spirit (designed to your specifications) included in the game on one of our Spirit Cards.
Shipping costs are a separate charge and will be collected through Backerkit after the campaign ends. Your rewards will not be shipped to you until your shipping cost has been paid for in full. Please plan accordingly.
As a guide, provided are some estimated shipping costs below so you may prepare. General shipping cost estimates are based on location! These estimates are TENTATIVE and APPROXIMATE prices that may vary and/or change slightly (prices may be lower OR higher at the time of shipping as these are just estimates)! I will work hard to keep the shipping cost as low as possible. Please also keep in mind that your country might have customs fees that vary greatly, and you will be expected to cover those customs fees yourself (though the product is a book and many countries don't have significant tariffs or fees on books so it all depends).

FULFILLMENT
Because the game is very close to ready for publication already, it should be possible to deliver the game relatively quickly. Our hope is to have the game in your hands by October of 2026, and possibly earlier depending on how quickly printing and shipping can be managed. Note, that if there are significant stretch goals, it may be necessary to push this timeline slightly, but we'll do our absolute best to be timely in delivery.

Pay Over Time is available!
If your pledge is over $150, after you select a pledge and go to Checkout, you'll be given the option to pay 4 equal interest-free monthly installments of your pledge total over the course of 4 months. So if you want to be immortalized in the world of spirits, it's now even easier on your bank accounts.

Midnight in Jubilation is an urban horror roleplaying game (RPG) designed for solo journalling. You play as a troubled individual who has moved to the small town of Jubilation as its newest overnight radio presenter. But this is a dangerous place full of secrets and monsters; and if some of those monsters do wear human skin, you don’t want to know where they got it from.
Backers of both campaigns will receive two bonus Spirit Cards not available anywhere else! Note, that you will receive these cards, even if you do not purchase other Spirit Cards as a pledge reward or add-on.
