Dear backers,

With my profuse thanks for your support, this campaign is complete and we are heading into the fulfillment phase. In this update: surveys incoming, production timeline, and a sneek-peak...

Surveys: we've set up your surveys behind-the-scenes and they're just about ready to go out. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information and payment, and purchase add-on items if you like. After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts. Any problems, please reach out.

Production timeline: we're taking a bit longer to finalise the hardback for the best of reasons: we unlocked art goals! The chapter art is in progress and we have a booking with our amazing cover designer, Just Venture Arts, to create a matching endpaper design in November. At present, we're still expecting to start sending out hardbacks in January as planned - and other rewards before  then- but if that changes I'll let you know.

I also got the first proof of the hardback edition this week, with the title typography picked out in glorious iridescent foil. Here's a peek:

Dear backers,

Thanks to your ever-kind support, we have unlocked our second bonus goal here at the tail end of the campaign. We'll be getting a custom-made design to embellish the endpapers! I'm so pleased to be able to upgrade all editions of the book - ebook, paperback, and hardback with chapter art, and the hardback with beautiful endpapers as well. 

We've done everything I was hoping for, and with several hours to spare. Thank you for showing up for this strange little book, and I am going to have a blast making it as gorgeous for you as possible.

Thanks to you we have achieved the first of our extra-gorgeousness goals: chapter art! Before I send these books to print, I'll embellish the interior with beautiful monochrome images to head up each story. I'm excited to go shopping for art for this, and thrilled we accomplished this one - thank you!

We're also halfway to the next goal, which is to further embellish the hardback edition with endpaper art. Let's keep it going and we can do it :))

Hello, dear readers,

Night Black, Moon White and other stories releases in stores in a few weeks, and the hardback campaign will be launching shortly beforehand on September 10th as part of the Printopia 2026 cross-collab event. I want to give you a look at where things stand!

The confirmed deluxe elements for this hardback edition are locked in: the title text will be printed in foil on the cover, so it shimmers in the light. The page edges will be sprayed black, carrying the night shadow all the way through the book. And there'll be a satin black ribbon bookmark, to keep your page mid-story and find your way back among the dark mirrors without losing your place.

If we go further together, there's more beauty planned: matching endpapers to dazzle your eyes the moment you open the book, and an illustrated chapter header. Stretch goals, if we get there.

Three gothic fairytales bound in beauty are waiting on the other side of this campaign: two sisters fleeing through dark mirrors, a woman braving the monster inside her own walls, a lost girl returning for one final night. If these sound like your kind of dark, following the project is the best way to be first through the door when we launch. And if you know a fellow booklover who loves their fairytales with teeth, I'd be glad of the company. Every share helps this new, unique little venture find the readers who'll want it most.
