How does one effectively resurrect a tale that's been retold hundreds of times in the last 200 years?
You put Guillermo del Toro in charge of it! In the wintery fog of  October 2025, del Toro released his magnum opus: Frankenstein, produced by Netflix. Despite a long running history with Universal and a hyper specific characterization the public held tightly too, Guillermo del Toro effectively resurrected the heart of Mary Shelley's striking tale - rigorous in heart and soul, his writing and direction dug into the pertinent and timely themes she wrote in 1818, with his own stylistic and thematic twists. Unsurprisingly, this adaptation captured the hearts of many.

ANATOMY OF A MONSTER is a love letter from 60+ fans whose souls became intertwined with his retelling of the monsters tale. From all corners of the world, Artist, Authors and Organizers banded together to create this fan anthology. ANATOMY OF A MONSTER will be made in flesh as a royal size (9.21x6.14") soft-cover book with 60-120 pages (final count pending) of full color brand new and exclusive to the zine illustrations, fanfictions, short stories, poetry and film analysis pieces. In addition to the book, exclusive merchandise items are available for the avid Frankenstein fan - including two acrylic charms, two die cut stickers, one sticker sheet and two full color postcard sized illustration prints. For those looking to indulge without clutter, a digital PDF of the artbook will also be available for purchase, with additional e-merchandise as a thank-you. ** PLEASE note that shipping will be charged separately when the campaign ends!

ANATOMY OF A MONSTER is utilizing Backerkit in order to fund the physical production of this project - all raised funds will be utilized for book printing, merchandise production, associated fees, and with enough support, to compensate our contributors with free full bundles of the project they dedicated months of their time too. If the amount of raised funds exceeds production costs, additional proceeds will be split 50/50 and donated to Doctors Without Borders and Latino Justice PRLDEF.

Funds raised from this campaign will go towards the cost of producing physical copies and merchandise associated with ANATOMY OF A MONSTER, as well as shipping costs and supplies and any associated fees. Should we raise more than our funding goal for production, excess funds will be split 50/50 between two charitable organizations selected by the team.

As a company of makers, we're selected two charities to support equally - one with a global humanitarian cause, to represent the international community that came together to create this project, and one charity that supports the Latino community, to honor the deep Latin American roots associated with Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein.

Our global cause charity is Doctors Without Borders (MSF).

Our Latino centered charity is LatinoJustice PRLDEF.
