Over the past few years, I've searched online for tarot coins (or tarot tiles) to use in my readings and add to my collection. There were some options out there, but nothing that ever really spoke to me or seemed "right." I found some coins, usually round in shape, but often with simple symbols on them representing the major and minor arcana, literally like a number 3 and a picture of a sword, or a knight helmet next to a wand. Plain, flat backs made them cheap looking, like metal slugs. Another set featured better images but the round coins were "blah" looking and very expensive, with all the add-ons being pricey too. There was a set that was copper in a rectangular shape, but again the images were interpretations of the tarot images, not true to the Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) artwork that I prefer. Tarot tiles were another option I considered. Some were made by applying miniature pictures of RWS cards onto wooden tiles and sealed with lacquer or resin. Others were made in a similar way but using plastic dominoes or mahjong tiles. Also very expensive. That's why I backed this Geekify project so quickly. I could immediately see all the thought and attention that went into designing this set and all the add-ons. Mainly the shape - perfect in the way the coins can fit next to each other, forming any number of interesting spreads! The details in the design make them so rich looking. Considering the quality and intricacies, the cost is very reasonable and a great investment. I'm seriously considering upgrading to the full bundle since this set is damn near perfect! Thank you, Geekify!
