Project Update: WHITE HEAT: Stretch Goal - Dining at Harvey's

Hi all

The final stretch goal for WHITE HEAT is here: Dining at Harvey's!

This new section lets your Crew visit the restaurant on Prospero's Dream during downtime, not just as part of the adventure. I've put together a two-page spread with details on visiting the restaurant on the left and the menu on the right. It went through many iterations and I'm super happy with how it turned out!

My initial plan was to offer Wardens a flavourful downtime location with some unique foods, drinks, maybe some rumours, like any other bar or restaurant the Crew can visit. The more I worked on it, though, the more that version felt a little too safe.

Noticing there weren't many ways to recover lost Fear and Sanity Saves in the Mothership rules, I turned the menu into a multi-course psychedelic experience that gives the Crew the chance to restore lost Saves—at a price.

Each menu has a theme:
  • Bliss plays with memory and restores Fear
  • Illumination plays with reason and restores Sanity
  • Hell is a blame game and may increase a random Save (but may also get someone killed)

Each of the courses comes with a prompt to spark some roleplay. The prompts interact across the different menus, so when you run it, I'd recommend encouraging your players to opt for different set menus.

Here's the translation for the three Bliss courses:
  • Per amica silentia lunae - Through the friendly silences of the moon
  • Sub nives obliviosa - Beneath obliviating (forgetfulness-inducing) snows / beneath the snows of forgetfulness
  • Ad somni cor - To the heart of sleep

Shout out to Strega Wolf van den Berg for their excellent layout on this and somehow managing to fit the whole menu on a single page!

And special thanks to my friend Heather for helping me with the menu concept.

Progress Report

Writing is 99% complete and layout is nearly finished too. I should have more info on PDFs soon. My apologies for running behind schedule, but we shouldn't have any troubles shipping with the rest of the MoMo25 projects.

Hope you enjoy the new section!

Gilbert
