Yes. Since Nightfell is designed for 5E (2014), it can also be used alongside 5E 2024 products, as they share the same core system. However, keep in mind that Nightfell continues to follow the design standards of the 2014 edition, which may lead to some imbalances when mixing classes, feats, or similar features with their 2024 counterparts. All of Nightfell’s original mechanics, such as Soul Points, Grim Weapons, and other unique rules, remain fully compatible and can be applied seamlessly to 5E 2024.
Nightfell introduces several unique mechanics (mainly found in the Corebook) that enrich the experience without overturning the core 5E system. Players don’t need to relearn the game or study large amounts of new material since these rules are designed as seamless additions rather than replacements. They do raise the overall challenge level and reinforce the sense of dread and oppression that defines the setting, immersing players in a survival-horror atmosphere. The mechanics are easy to learn and implement, yet powerful in shaping the grim and perilous tone of the world.
No. The Witches’ Path is fully playable on its own. You can use it as a supplement to expand your existing Nightfell campaigns, or integrate it seamlessly into any 5E game. The book is designed to bring the dark art of witchcraft into 5E, making it an excellent resource for anyone who wants to explore the theme of witches at the table, even outside the Nightfell setting. Having other Nightfell books can certainly enrich the experience adding more lore, monsters, and mechanics from the setting, but they are not required to enjoy or run The Witches’ Path.
The Special Edition Dice are a set of two metal-plated d8 lunar dice. In the bag you'll find a Numbered Die and an Unnumbered one. Numbered Version: 8 faces featuring the moon phases and corresponding numbers (1 to 8). Unnumbered Version: 8 faces depicting just the moon phases for an even more immersive atmosphere. This goodie is a deluxe collectible and a useful instrument to track lunar phases while adventuring in Nightfell's world.
The Deluxe Items, such as Tome of Witchcraft, Tome of the Moon, and the Special Edition Dice Set, are strictly limited edition and will only be produced once. Once they sell out, they will never be reprinted, making them true collector’s pieces. If you want to secure these rare items, the crowdfunding campaign is your best chance. For example, the Tome of Shadows from a previous campaign is now completely unavailable and highly sought after. Don’t miss the opportunity to claim these before they’re gone forever.
Unfortunately not, pledge level rewards cannot be changed. If you wish to add more items, you can do so by means of the add-on.
You are eligible for the Early Bird bonus only if you secured a pledge with physical items within the first 48 hours of the campaign. This includes: Pledging at a tier that already contains physical items within the first 48 hours. Backing with a digital-only pledge (or the €1 “Watcher of the Eclipse” tier) and adding physical items within the first 48 hours. You are not eligible for the Early Bird reward if: You add physical items to your pledge after the first 48 hours. You only pledged for digital content and did not select any physical product within the Early Bird window. ⚠️ Please note: Due to a system error, the Early Bird reward may currently appear as added to some pledges that do not actually qualify (for example, digital-only pledges). This will be corrected later during the pledge manager. As originally announced, the Player’s Journal Early Bird gift is reserved exclusively for backers who included physical products in their pledge within the first 48 hours.

Yes! The production of the physical books is scheduled for Q4 2026, with printing expected to take place around November 2026.
After the crowdfunding campaign has ended, refunds will be granted at the discretion of Grim Moon Studio. Please note that a 10%+ fee will be retained from the total pledge value to cover administrative costs and a portion of services already rendered. Grim Moon Studio is a small, independent company, so we reserve the right to evaluate refund requests on a case-by-case basis. This is to protect our business and ensure our ability to deliver the project on time and within budget. Therefore, please carefully consider your decision before requesting a refund. Once the campaign has concluded and funds have been allocated to production, refunds can result in financial losses for our company, as funds may need to be reallocated.
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
