Actually, Terry would cackle at me until I cry. So there's that. Reading him is certainly a wonderful experience and your taste is excellent.
The King-Killing Queen is set about 400 years ago. The Dark Thorn is set about 10 years ago. They are set in the same universe and the two trilogies will have interconnection but they can be read separately. I'd recommend you read TKKQ as it is newer from me, a stronger effort due to my experience now as opposed to when I wrote TDT, and it is shorter. Though The Dark Thorn is very self-contained whereas TKKQ is not. So there's that.
