Choose Your Side #1 - Ulgen, the Radiant One
Hello everyone!
Lore and Setting took the lead in our last poll. So we’re taking you deeper into YATAGAN’s universe with Choose Your Side: three updates, three powers, and a choice for your future Explorer.
Our journey begins in the Sacred Cluster, where the brightest stars gather around Ulgen, the Radiant One.
A galaxy under his watch
As God of the Stars, Ulgen rules the Solemn Orbs alongside the Council of Celestianominals. He leads war councils, appoints commanders, and directs the fleets fighting Erlik’s Umbral Ring.
His cosmic power, Qut, keeps the Sacred Cluster stable. He safeguards the great trade routes that carry travelers between distant worlds. Even the stars slowly shift their orbits toward him, drawing the cluster into an ever-brighter gathering of light.
For those living beneath that light, Ulgen’s protection is a powerful reason to remain loyal.
But his attention reaches everywhere.
From the smallest fighter to the largest clanship, every detail falls under his scrutiny. The Council’s deliberations are long, its bureaucracy rigid, and its commitment to the law absolute. Ulgen’s pursuit of perfection shapes both his military command and the lives of those he governs.
Long before his celestial rule, Ulgen walked a young Earth. He was the first to awaken Qut, and through it, he heard a mysterious voice calling him. His search brought him to the Tree of Life, where he found Erlik. Together, they descended beneath its roots and discovered Umay, Mother Earth.
She nurtured their gifts and taught them patience, compassion, and responsibility. Ulgen brought her fireflies gathered from the highest hills. Erlik brought treasures from deep within the Earth. Yet their growing power awakened an ambition that Umay’s lessons could not contain.
The betrayal that followed would make them gods, divide them forever, and leave humanity searching for new homes among the stars.
Ulgen promised his people a just rule. Would your Explorer place their loyalty in his hands?

We also have some news: YATAGAN will now launch on 27 October, two weeks later than planned. We would rather launch two weeks late than launch with something we are not sure of.

First of all, thank you. YATAGAN: A Roleplaying Game has passed 1,500 followers on BackerKit. We did not plan for this ladder to climb this fast, and we are glad we were wrong.
You crossed the third milestone. Here is what it opened.
The first transmission from the front: an Operation PDF, ready to run at your table. A self-contained mission in the Nomad Worlds built for the Color D12 system and duration for a single session. If you have read the Quickstart, this is the first thing to run with it.
How you receive it: like the Welcome Package and the Field Kit, Transmission Package #1 is unlocked by the follower count and delivered with any YATAGAN pledge. Reserve now or pledge at launch, and all three arrive with the rest of your rewards. No extra cost, no add-on.
