Project Update: Update #11 – Cards Printed & Fulfilment Ahead

Hey Loonatics,
Another milestone reached!

The Fool's Errand deck has now been printed, and I'm really happy to finally see it as a physical product after months of design and preparation.
On the fulfilment side, I'm putting the finishing touches on the BackerKit surveys. They should be going out soon, so keep an eye on your inbox over the coming weeks. Once you receive yours, you'll be able to confirm your shipping address, select your shirt size if your reward includes one. If your shirt size is not an option, feel free to reach out to my email [email protected], I'll make sure everything is ready for fulfilment.

The one-shot adventure included in the book is also in its final stretch and is expected to be finished this week. Once that's wrapped up, another major piece of Toon Morgue will be complete.
Things are moving along nicely, and it's exciting to see so many parts of the project coming together at the same time.
As always, thank you all for your patience and continued support. I can't wait to share more with you soon.
Until next time,

Project Update: Update #10 – Cultists, the Blighted Bog & The Fool's Errand

Hey Loonatics,

This month's progress has been focused on expanding some of the last bits of illustrations needed.

I've been working on new illustrations for cultists around Terloon, adding more variety to the people you'll encounter throughout the book, as well as continuing work on the Blighted Bog. What was before a beautiful garden, proved to become a proper swamp filled with creatures both mutated with chemicals and corrupted by the Frame's influence.

On the production side, The Fool's Errand deck is finished and next month they will be already in the print. It's great to finally have the cards moving from a digital design to a physical product, and I'm looking forward to sharing photos once I have samples in hand.

As always, I've included a few previews of the latest illustrations below so you can see how everything is progressing.

See you in the next update and once more, I'm very happy that you helped bring this passion project of mine to life, there are no words to describe how proud it makes me feel and I want to share this passion with everyone that supported the book.

Project Update: Update #9 – Botchmer Lands & The Fool's Errand

Hey Loonatics,
Another month, another step closer to getting Toon Morgue into your hands.
This month David Marcin has been working on the Botchmer Lands illustration, continuing to flesh out one of the regions of Terloon.
I'm also deep into the design work for The Fool's Errand, the custom card deck included in select reward tiers. The deck's visual design is coming together, and my goal is to begin production this month. Printing and manufacturing take time, so I want to get that process started as early as possible.

As production planning continues, there will eventually be an email sent out to relevant backers requesting any information needed for fulfillment. This will include things such as shipping addresses and, where applicable, shirt sizes so I can begin preparing those rewards as well.

Thank you all for the continued support. Every month the project gets a little closer to becoming a finished book, and I'm excited to keep sharing the progress with you.

Until next time,

Project Update: Update #8 – Spires of Arkhau & Ongoing Design

Hey Loonatics,
Quick check-in on where things are at.

Work on the Spires of Arkhau is currently in progress. It’s shaping up as a harsh, mountainous region with signs of hidden activity beneath the surface. There are indications of structured mining systems and something more organized than simple excavation, but I’m keeping the deeper details for the book itself.

This one’s been fun to shape, both in terms of writing and how it sits visually on the page. I’m also continuing to commission monster illustrations, so you’ll see more of the bestiary taking form alongside the locations.

On the design side, I’m actively building the class layouts and locking in some of the book’s pages. It’s starting to look like an actual book now instead of separate pieces, which is a big step forward.

I’ve added a few of the illustrations I currently have so you can get a better sense of how everything is coming together. Here are some sketches that once refined and fully drawn will be featured on the Spires of Arkhau "reports/archives" in the book:

Sketch of Entrance to one of the Mines

Sketch of the Spires of Arkhau

Gemling

More soon as things keep moving.

Project Update: Update #7: Adventure Design & New Illustrations

Hey Loonatics,
We’re entering a really exciting phase of Toon Morgue, the book is being more actively designed.

Full Page Design Underway

I’m now fully working on the book’s page design, laying everything out section by section: text, tables, illustrations, and layout finally merging into something tangible.

There are only a few illustrations left to be completed, and once those are in, we’ll be very close to locking in the full visual identity of the book.

At the same time, a dedicated designer is actively working on the one-shot adventure included in the book, ensuring it has its own strong layout and readability while still fitting seamlessly into the overall style.

Mr. Droolinger’s Office:
We now have a finished illustration of Mr. Droolinger’s office, featured in the one-shot.

Weapons Overview Illustration
We’ve also completed a new overview illustration featuring 9 of the weapons that will appear in the book. On one side, the most rudimentary ones and on the other... well where things start getting proper bloodied and silly.

Huge thanks to JCaluger for the incredible work so far, these pieces are bringing Toon Morgue to life in exactly the way I imagined.
More soon.
