I come bearing finished art. Hezekial mooning over Baba as he does. It was very difficult to keep him on task while writing IronBlood, lol.
And, I’ve ordered the foil bookmarks. I’m really excited to see how they are with actual foil but I think the mock up is so pretty. It gives you an idea of how things evolve through the process. Since we went from this, to ✨THIS✨.
There’s a lot of art to create yet, but this is one of the main color pieces done. And I’m gathering the pieces together.
I’ll be off to Author Nation/Reader Nation in a couple weeks and expect to get a lot of drawing done while I sit through presentations. Reader Nation is open to the public so y’all should come find more new books to read to add to your libraries. ;)
Adventurers! With just hours to go, we reached the 175 pledge count to unlock the foil bookmark! Yay! I’m so excited to bring you the reforged Ironblood and pretty art to go with it. It makes my soul happy.
What comes next. If y’all got the same Halfblood email I did, you already have solid idea of the upcoming process and I will do my best to emulate the experienced Ben in fulfillment, but here’s a summary of the plan.
The campaign ends and Backerkit charges cards.
In two weeks the funds are processed and deposited into the account.
The next step is surveys. These will be sent out later when the art print choices are ready to be selected; I will keep you updated on progress as I finish illustrations. The surveys will ask you to confirm your pledge and addons, as well as your shipping address for any physical items; shipping will be charged later when all is manufactured and ready to roll out, with a 48hr warning. For digital items: the ebooks will be delivered via bookfunnel, and the digital prints via google drive.

Adventurers! Printopia is in the last 24hrs and I bet most of us running a campaign live this phrase “it’s the final countdown” as we chew our nails in anticipation. I was blessed to make the main goal in the first day so I was able enjoy the process and come up with new stretch goals.
We’re so so close to unlocking the foil bookmark. We only need six more backers to reach the pledge count goal. 👀🤞🏻
I did make some progress on the bookmark design. It’s still inprogress and may be refined before we’re done, but the lineart is nearly finished then I’ll start dropping real color.
What happens after the campaign closes? Well, mostly drawing and more drawing for a bit. I endeavor to deliver IronBlood to you as soon as I can. Since many, many of you here came from Halfblood, 🙏, there are a few more pieces inprogress for Misty’s projects that take priority, but I have a balanced rotation. As for specifics, I’m learning what my next steps need to be since this is my first campaign where I’m steering the ship. 😅 I found the preorder store option and am working on setting it up. I will keep you all updated as things move forward.

Beans
If you’re already a backer, you may have seen them in the last update. A mixed bag of dry beans dumped out a try. These are the base of IronHolt. I’ve been planning to try the bean method for my next map, so here we are.

I zoomed out a bit further than I originally planned, but I think we’re getting there with most of the important places from IronBlood, though now that I write this, I should probably consider SkyBorn’s visit to the city while I’m at it.
For those of you who voted for seeing the finished pretty version…it’s coming. XD I like to think I’m fast, but I’m not quite that fast, and I have dragons taking flight in another file too. One scribble at a time, they all take shape. My Grandpa used to say it’s all just scribbles that look like something.
We have our official numbers and goals for the ultimate upgrades! $15,000 two color foil, $16,000 three color foil, and $18,000 leather cover. The primary requirement to success is the quantity of the order; the bigger printers have minimums and the change in cost to count is fairly dramatic. Thus the difference of the original goal of $950 to $18,000 to make it extra special and shiny.
According to calculations, we only need approx 255 backers to unlock all the new goals. Which, at the beginning of the campaign, I’d have never dared dream of, but we’re already over halfway there and I’m so blessed.
I’ve also added a new pledge count goal. If we reach 175 pledges, I’ll upgrade the bookmark to have foil also. I do like the shinies.
