Moonlight Glen is a TTRPG setting in the realm of the Fae-Wild. This digital zine provides a setting for player characters to explore, interact with NPC's, and receive side quests from local business owners. And sometimes, when teleport spells go awry, the ancient magical runestones situated in Moonlight Glen draw random adventuring parties to them.
I decided to write something a bit different this time and created a fae setting with adventure options, rather than creating a linear adventure like my holiday themed adventure That's How the Cookie Crumbles. Thusly, Moonlight Glen provides a space for rest and respite and a chance to meet a variety of NPC's who travel to the Fae-Wild for business or merriment.
This zine is over 20+ pages, includes 2 new creatures, tokens, and 10 VTT maps of Moonlight Glen and surrounding areas for your favorite online VTT gaming platform. Moonlight Glen has a sandbox vibe setting with adventure options, rather than a traditional linear adventure, this makes the setting easily converted to a variety of TTRPG gaming systems. Moonlight Glen is a digital reward and arrives in .pdf format.
All VTT maps arrive with both grid and non-grid options.
Berrrgosh the local baker bought a cursed cookie recipe from a shady devil named Claude and needs help fixing his confectionary conundrum.
My inspiration for this zine was The Village of Hommlet, which came with the Basic D&D set back in the day, but make it Fae. In The Village of Hommlet setting the player characters have plenty to explore in town, and can travel outside of the village for adventures elsewhere. With this style of open world concept as the basis for Moonlight Glen, I created a small section of a faerie village, town, or neighborhood for you to enjoy.
Moonlight Glen represents the heart of a town or village, and this neighborhood provides numerous fae owned and operated businesses to interact with. The Sleep Inn provides a place to rest and a chance to interact with other visitors to the Fae-Wild. A potions dealer runs her apothecary shop out of a purple timber sided wagon, adjacent to a tavern inside a tree that is run by a satyr named Bloom. Hungry visitors in Moonlight Glen can fill their bellies with home cooked meals at a restaurant below ground inside a gnome's burrow, and there is a retired fairy adventurer who has a cluttered shop where one can buy and sell both magical and mundane gear.
Once the adventurers settle into Moonlight Glen, and if they don't burn the place down, the local business owners have side quests to offer.
