Reclvse Second Edition: The solo engine for Mörk Borg, now fully compatible with Pirate Borg and expanded with one hundred pages of dedicated nautical content.
The dying lands is not quiet enough. It is time to set sail into the dark seas. Reclvse is a solo engine for Mörk Borg that provides a framework for wandering the dying lands without a GM. This second edition expands the original toolbox, introducing new oracles and systems to brave the high seas, compatible with both Mörk Borg and Pirate Borg.
Hardcover
With this second edition, I am expanding the horizons. I am taking the existing systems of quests, travel, cities, dungeons, encounters, and oracles and pushing them into the wave torn reaches of the Dark Caribbean. Reclvse: Second Edition maintains full compatibility with Mörk Borg while adding new mechanics. You can now captain a vessel, manage a crew of the damned, and navigate a world where even the oceans have turned against the living. These options exist alongside everything from the previous version.
This project adds significant content to the Reclvse framework. The second edition features over 60 moves, dozens of additional tables, and expands the total page count by at least 100 pages, bringing the book to around 250 pages. The physical edition will be produced in A5 format. As a solo player, I designed this to be a complete resource that keeps everything you need in one book for efficient play.
The second edition introduces core systems for maritime and land-based play:
Navigating the seas: Plotting courses through shifting waters with procedurally generated maps.
Commanding your crew: Managing desperate sailors and keeping them in line when faced with certain death.
Scavenging wrecks: Boarding drifting hulks and abandoned vessels to strip them of the remaining supplies needed to survive another day.
Exploring islands: Venturing onto isolated, forgotten landmasses scattered across a dying ocean, hunting for scraps of meaning.
Tons of tables: The first edition of Reclvse built its reputation on tables. This second edition takes that further, packing the book with more content to support the nautical theme. You will find pages of tables dedicated to life at sea, maritime hazards, and the unique perils of a drowning world. If you want a resource that keeps your game moving with constant, randomized discovery, this is it.
Classes: There will be an additional 6 classes added to the second edition, bringing the total classes to 12!
This is my first time on Backerkit, but this is not my first book. I do not expect any risks or challenges. Most of Reclvse 2E is already written. My work now is purely to finish the artwork and the layout.
• A toolbox not a rulebook. Use all of it, some of it, or none of it. It is your game after all.
• Built for solo play. As a solo player, I built this to be a complete resource that keeps everything you need in one book for smooth, simple play.
• The sea expansion. Adds maritime mechanics to the Reclvse framework. It includes rules for ship management, naval combat, and procedural generation for sea-based encounters.
If you are curious about the first edition and want to see how the engine functions, you can find the complete digital and physical books at the link below. It serves as the foundation for the new systems I am introducing in this project, and it remains a fully contained experience for those ready to begin their journey through the seas.
