What does "Femme Fatale" mean? What's the story behind this Mythology enamel pin series?
I wanted to create a series of enamel pins representing the most powerful women in mythology. The term "Femme Fatale" originates from France meaning 'deadly woman' or 'lethal woman'. My main inspiration for this whole pin series was the first pin I created of Medusa who is seen today as an symbol for female empowerment. I chose several other deadly/fierce women as a part of this femme mythology series and I'm so excited to share all these new designs with you!

Let's meet all the Femmes you can unlock in this campaign!
Medusa- She represents strength, power, and female empowerment. A side story to her curse from Athena is that Instead of punishingMedusa with a head of snakes that could turn men to stone, Athena protectedher. Athena blessed Medusa with the ability to defend herself, and her daughters, from men so she would never be hurt again.
Aphrodite- She was a woman of exceptional beauty with an allure capable of captivating every God in heaven. All gods feared that Aphrodite’s beauty will lead to rivalry amongst them and might even be a cause of war. Aphrodite is the perfect Femme Fatale for her captivating beauty and the ability to cast her spell to ensnare her many lovers into situations that may be dangerous.
Siren- Sirens would lure nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices in order to shipwreck them on the rocky coast of the island. These were the most dangerous creatures from mythology that are the ultimate portrayal of a femme fatale.
Succubus- These are supernatural entities that appear in dreams to seduce men. A femme fatale tries to achieve her hidden purpose by using feminine wiles such as beauty, charm, and sexual allure which makes them the perfect final pin in this Femme Fatale series
FreebieCollab pin:
Persephone, the Goddess of Spring and Queen of the Underworld. She was kidnapped by Hades and later became the Queen of the Underworld. The ancient Greeks used this to explain the change of the seasons, the eternal cycle of the Nature's death and rebirth.
Pin specs:
All enamel pins in this project will be hard enamel, roughly 2" tall/wide. All pins will have a gunmetal finish except for the collab pin which will be a gold finish. All pins will have 2 rubber posts on the back of the pin as well as my backstamp logo.

Hello there! :) I'm Jess also known as JBlake Design at anime conventions / @jbzydraws online! I'm a Chicana artist born in Oakland, California and now living in the Midwest area where I do most of my conventions at! I run my Etsy Shop here and I create lots of unique fanart and dark original art! This will be my third crowdfunding campaign including my successful "Halloween Township" ita bag/enamel pin campaigns on both Kickstarter/Backerkit, and my "dumb bitch juice" keychain preorder campaign that reached all across the US and several countries worldwide.
